TASK 1- GIVING EXAMPLE

1. The song, Somebody to Love by Lewis Capaldi

The semiotic system of this song is AUDIO because it shows such as volume, rhythm, music and pitch. As I
watched the Music video the other semiotic system that using in this song is GESTURE, it shows the aspect
such as movement, facial expression and body language.

2. The movie, Avatar.

In this movie there are many semiotic systems that it shows, there are LINGUISTIC, this movie used a
vocabulary which is NA’VI words, also the VISUAL we can see that the movie has beautiful color, layout and
moving images, it shows comprising aspect such as movement , facial expression, speed and posture this is
GESTURAL, this movie show that it has SPATIAL Comprising aspect such as direction, position of layout and
organization of objects in space, and last semiotic system that show in this movie is AUDIO we hear in this
movie comprising aspect such as volume, sound effect and silence.

3. Music Video of Despacito.

The semiotic systems of this music video of Despacito are AUDIO because it shows the comprising aspect
such as rhythm, volume, pitch, and sound effects. This video we can see the other semiotic system which is
GESTURAL because it shows the comprising aspect such as body, language, facial expression and
movement.

4. The play. Phantom of the Opera.

Phantom of the opera shows the five semiotic systems, first is AUDIO shows the comprising aspect such
as volume, music, pitch, rhythm and sounds effect, second is LINGUISTIC, third GESTURAL show the
comprising aspect such as body language, facial expression and movement, fourth is VISUAL shows the
comprising aspect such as color, and layout, last is SPATIAL comprising aspect such as direction, position of
layout and organization of object in space.
