Summary
Epigenetic factors control the level of gene expression, which may vary from
person to person. The diversity in traits is very much dependent on such factors. In
this seminar, you will learn about these factors, such as DNA methylation, histone
modifications, environment, diet, exercise, metabolic compounds, microbiota, non-
coding RNAs, and others that control gene expression. What may be the critical
window in the human life span to target these factors? How well can they be
conserved evolutionary; How do they influence human behavior, and if so, is the
influence lifelong or interim? How can such factors be used as therapeutic targets?
