VERB TO BE

The verb to be is used to say something about a person, thing, or state, to


show a permanent or temporary quality, state, job or occupation, and
nationality. Look these examples:

Sarah is 34 years old.

My classroom is not enormous.

We are happy.

It is cold today.

Stephen is not married.

Are you an engineer?

They are not Russian.
