Epic Poem - Yakasha
Epic Poem - Yakasha
His eyes shifted to the burning yourn, reaching for something more
Guizimu, a ghoul that worshiped satanic behavior, left the village in a tangle
There was no way to untie the mess without a monster to reinvent this strangle
Closer by night and farther into the day, these prophets travel in packs with no stray
“Must we fight them?” one says. Another ponders “Is it worth it?”
The first of many thoughts compressed them all
“Why are we doing this?”
The five shared borrowed confidence and stolen esteem to raise their heads high
They couldn’t tell if their life was a lie or a monster in disguise
One of the five speak in only language that could be understood from their group
As the words carry on with their everyday discussion, a spike of attitude shifts
“If we forget our oaths to overcome all, then safety is being taken for granted,
Leaving no protection amongst the weak and vulnerable.”
“Guizimu!” They all called toward the foolish creature above, one of five gods, was left
untangled by fear and mummified expressions
(Within the Perspective part of my project, I wanted to convey a sort of symbolisim of a Yaksha within
Thailand. This being said, I created an original poem based on the perspective of the Yaksha's
outlook/views. In doing so, this Yaksha is being viewed as the direct sayings that it represents within the
Thailand society.)
