ATTY. ARNEL G. RAMON

Director
Licensure Office

Dear Atty.

The undersigned is a Mathematics major of Leyte Normal University and one of the
examinees in the October 2022 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT)
conducted on October 2, 2022. To my dismay (and I believe to the majority of the Math majors
who took the LEPT yesterday) the major exam was filled with typographical errors
(approximately 80-90% of the total test items) which caused us extremely difficult time figuring
out the correct answer to the said items. Some of the items even have incomplete stem (e.g., no
graphs for us to solve the problem) making the items unsolvable. I courageously drafted this
letter not just for my sake but for the rest of the Math majors who have the same plight as I am.
In fact, this concern has also been a recurring problem from the previous board exams taken by
Math majors in the major area. May the Board for Professional Teachers and your office look
into this matter so that those items with typographical errors be considered null and void,
thereby helping us Math majors to have equal footing as other majors whose examination
questions show no typographical errors.

The examination result is crucial to us since we are the last batch of examinees from old
curriculum. We have studied hard for this examination, and may our effort not come to waste.
May we also be heard by your good office so that our hopes and dreams of becoming Licensed
Professional Teachers be achieved.

Your positive response on this matter will be highly appreciated.

Sincerely,

JUAN DELA CRUZ
