JAWABAN YANG SLIDE 6 PPT

1. What are business cycles?

answer

A business cycle is the periodic growth and decline of a nation's economy, measured mainly
by its GDP. Governments try to manage business cycles by spending, raising or lowering
taxes, and adjusting interest rates

2. What is the difference between a boom and a bust?

Answer
The boom and bust cycle is a key characteristic of capitalist economies and is sometimes
synonymous with the business cycle. During the boom the economy grows, jobs are plentiful
and the market brings high returns to investors. In the subsequent bust the economy
shrinks, people lose their jobs and investors lose money.

3. What are business contractions?

Answer
Contraction, in economics, refers to a phase of the business cycle in which the economy as a
whole is in decline. A contraction generally occurs after the business cycle peaks, but before
it becomes a trough.

4. How are recessions different than business contractions?

Answer
A contraction generally occurs after the business cycle peaks, but before it becomes a
trough. According to most economists, when a country's real gross domestic product (GDP)
—the most-watched indicator of economic activity—has declined for two or more
consecutive quarters, then a recession has occurred.

5. Which of the following are affected by boom and bust cycles?

Answer
economic conditions, unemployment rate inflation, salary increases and decreases and so
on.

CONVERTATION ABOUT PLANNING

Iis : Do you have any plan to trip fau ?, I really, really, really wanna plan a trip.

Fauziah : You know, I'm starting to believe that you wanna plan a trip.

Iis : I do! How did you know?

Fauziah : Just, just a hunch.

Iis : It was a good hunch. You have good intuition.

Fauziah : Thanks.

Iis : Yeah. But yeah, so Chicago, right? I wanna go to Chicago. So, now I'm starting to think
about logistics. So, how do I get there? When should I go? 'Cause I have to take off of work. I
have to plan enough time to, to ask for time off, um, to get a vacation. So, I'm thinking maybe
I'll do a four day trip.

Fauziah : Mm.

Iis : But Chicago is kind of up north and it gets cold relatively early in the year.

Fauziah : Yeah.

Iis : But also in the summertime, 'cause it's in the Midwest, the US Midwest, it can get hot
and humid, I think, during the summertime.

Fauziah : Right.

Iis : So, I think the best time to go might be in this, probably fall, maybe early fall?

Fauziah : Ah ha!

Iis : Like September?

Fauziah : The shoulder seasons.

Iis : The shoulder season. The shoulder season being like spring or fall, right?

Fauziah : Mm-hmm.

Iis : Yeah. So, I think I might try to plan for a four-day trip to Chicago in September.
Fauziah : That-that'll be good. I should look to see if there's any concerts and then I can go
with you and then we can have a fun time.

Iis : That'd be fun. Yeah. Oh, I bet Rachel and Jeff would have fun too.

Fauziah : Yep. For sure.

Iis : Yep. And then we can decide together, 'cause I, I talked before about how there's like
famous restaurants and stuff. There's so many restaurants. Like, I started looking at it again
'cause I was getting excited about planning a trip. There's a lot to choose from. So, I think we
need to decide on our hotel. We need to pick a hotel kind of as our, our center of activity, and
then from around the hotel, maybe choose the restaurants and places where we wanna go.

Fauziah : Yeah. That sounds like a good plan.

Iis : And they have, I think they have a good subway system and all that there. Good public
transportation. That's one of the things like when you're planning a trip, like you have to
make sure, especially in the U.S. that you have a plan for getting around that town because
sometimes towns don't have good public transportation, so you have to rent a car.

Fauziah : Yeah.

Iis : But like last time when I was, I took a trip to Tucson, they had very limited public
transportation. Um, that wasn't really where I had to be in that town. It didn't really serve me
well. So.

Fauziah : Hm. I see.

Iis : We can plan for that this time.

Fauziah : That's why I always rent a helicopter when I go places, because just never know
when you're gonna have to land on top of a building.

Iis : Well, I mean anymore, you, you should really just get a jetpack.

Fauziah : Oh yeah.

Iis : Yeah.

Fauziah : That's true.
