SJS overpowers SMA to remain unbeaten in MVE

Raining with heavy strikes, sturdy wallops and breathtaking defense, Saint John
School reigned supreme over Saint Mark Academy, 25-19, 23-15, 25-20, 25-20 in
the Municipal Meet volleyball eliminations at Arayata Sports Complex on
September 9.

Jerome Arbis and Noli Cruz led the Saint John School to their victory having a
combined score of 17 points in the last set thus winning the match.

Heavy rains and thunderstorms brought by typhoon maring was neglected by the
heat conducted by the thrilling game and scores of both teams.

The fourth and final set wherein both team went all out, SJS Arbis with an
impeccable spike continued their winning streak and guaranteed the set.

“My boys are pumped up from their victory over the Saint Joseph Institute
Tossers.” said SJS Coach Rody Santos “This is a good start as we are gunning for
the championship like our basketball varsity posting a 6-0 winning streak.” He
added.

On the other side, SMA Joseph Rom came strong in the second set with mounting
strong wallops aided by Dan Sibals’ remarkable defense as he stopped a ball
service from SJS Richard Montes that prevailed and won the set.

Player of SMA, Jin Rivas was brought to the Family General Hospital after he fell
bad and sprained her ankle trying to score a point to win the set.
SJS now has a 2-0 lead to their respective opponents.
