The Day of The Dead in Oaxaca
They set up altars full of Cempasúchil flower petals, with which they form a path from
the entrance of the house to the altar, to guide the little souls.
The next day, the path is already marked awaiting the visit of the adult souls.

That day a glass of water is placed that is said to help purify the
soul of the deceased who visits them. Copal is another very
important element for Oaxacan families, since it is believed that
it works to guide the soul towards the dishes that it liked in life.
During the Day of the Dead in Oaxaca, it is filled with smells such
as black mole, Oaxacan sweets, manzanitas de tejocote, water
chocolate and the traditional bread of the dead.
The festivities are held for 3 days in this part of Mexico, and on
the first of November, they continue with the Day of the Dead
celebration in Oaxaca.

On that date, it is customary to "Carry the dead", a tradition in which
they give family and friends a part of the food that was part of the
offering on their altars.
Later, they go to the General Cemetery of Oaxaca, where they adorn
the tombs of their faithful deceased and take the opportunity to spend
a moment next to their niche.
