Drove Mercedes-Benz sedan. 31. Worked for Woodlawn Funeral Home as greeter, embalmers helper, custodian, and body pickup. 32. Lost credit card in open grave. 33. Pastored two churches: Edison, NJ, and Irwin (PA) Norwin Churches of the Nazarene. Also, was associate pastor with Dallas Mucci at Bethel Park (PA) South Hills. 86. Taught our children not to stick their finger in a fan by sticking a pencil in the fan, shattering the pencil and scaring the kids (and myself). 87. Took care of children who were taken away from their parents at TLC (Temporary Lodging for Children). 88. Bred a registered standard female poodle as an unincorporated small business. 89. Owned and drove a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle. 90. Owned a 1976 MGB convertible. 91. Stood atop Stone Mountain Monument in Georgia. 92. Surrounded by wild kangaroos in Blue Mountains near Sydney, Australia. 93. Safari through Pilanesberg Safari Park near Johannesburg, South Africa. 94. Saw Mt. St. Helens from Windy Ridge in 25th anniversary year of volcano erupting. 95. Baptized Stephanie and Jonathan. 96. Took Jonathan to his first day of pre-school. 97. First woodwork project: welcome center in tabernacle for Glenda; other woodwork projects include: hall table (cherry), four country trashcan covers, four-roll towel holder, name plate for Willettes, rustic planter from half a log, address post w/bird house, mission-style hall table (maple) and turned pens (wood and deer antler). 98. Rode a camel (at a zoo) with Stephanie and Jonathan. 99. Visited 9/11 Flight 93 memorial in Stoystown, PA (very moving). 100. Witnessed a car flip on PA Turnpike and called it in (911). 103. Visited a former pastor in state prison, incarcerated for molesting a teenage boy and transporting him across state line. 104. Experienced the burning of Zozobra in Sante Fe, kicking off La Fiesta. 105. Learned to play the game of Farkle with Jerry and Toni Porter. 106. Fished (unsuccessfully) for salmon on the Salmon River, Upstate NY. 107. Participated in two African-American funerals (Payne and Webb). 108. Served on Ph.D. dissertation committee Ken Moss. 109. Visited Branson, MO and Silver Dollar City with Jim and Susan Dillows (2006). 110. Learned to turn wooden ink pens at Jim and Susan Dillows. 111. Had my first nuclear stress test (12/19/2006) passed. 112. Car broken into and possessions stolen in Terre Haute, IN (2/13/2007). 113. Played Pee-Wee (under 10 years old) and Little League (over 10 years old) baseball. 114. Ordained as Elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 1984 by Dr. William Greathouse. 115. Survived car wreck at age 4 that killed my mother, Mildred Faith Dillman. Brother, Jerry, and sister, Gealean, also survived.

Experienced the grief and loss of my brother, Jerry, who died in an industrial accident at age of 26. Baptized my brother, Craig, who thought he needed to be since he was entering the ministry. Baptized my sister, Emily, and her daughter, Maggie, in front of family and friends in my brother-in-law/sisters pool. Remodeled my daughters condo, including complete bathroom and kitchen remodel. Built a baby cradle from figured hard maple for our first grandson, Isaiah Christopher Dillman. Oversaw the 100th Anniversary of the Pittsburgh District (2007), including a parade of churches in organizational date order and a centennial musical. Wrote the narration for both. Constructed three 8 feet by 11 feet projector screens using photographic background paper. Bought Glenda a yarn winder for Christmas so she could stop wrestling with skeins that tangled or wouldnt pull from the center. Received several woodworking magazine subscriptions: Wood, Woodwork, Popular Woodworking; Fine Woodworking, and Woodcraft. Sang in the Pgh District Centennial musical: Solo No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus; Trio He Touched Me; Southern Gospel Quartet Victory in Jesus and Just a Little Talk With Jesus. Landscaped the front of the district parsonage. Built a water feature for the front flowerbed from three copper urns. Honored with a reception for 10th anniversary as district superintendent of Pgh District. Turned two wooden pens (Honduran rosewood and Redheart) for General Superintendent Nina Gunter and husband, Moody. Vacationed at Cherokee, NC (about age 12) Funny video (8mm) of me unsuccessfully trying to jump on full-size plaster horse in a themepark western town. Walked across 180 feet long swinging bridge in Rock City, GA. Visited Lookout Mountain. Motorcycled through Smoky Mountains in October. Sang on district IMPACT Team as teenager in Kentucky. Teen Bible-quizzer made the district team and went to regionals twice. Bronco-skied on Kentucky Lake behind dads boat (about age 13). Stubbed toe on underwater log in Kentucky Lake, driving splinter deep under my toenail. Dad removed it at home while I cried and my brothers laughed. Took my dads lawnmower apart and couldnt put it together again. Witnessed the Olympic torch being carried through Washington D.C. Purchased an Olympus AE1 SLR cameratook photography classes to learn how to use it. First computer was a Franklin 2000 with two external 5 disk drives and a color monitor. Bought a daisy writer printer at the same time. Paid nearly $4000 for the system at a time when my annual salary was $8500/year. (Bless my wife, Glenda, and her work income!) Second computer was a laptop with 4meg memory and a 10mb hard drive. Weighed approximately 15 pounds. First word processor was Screen Writer. Took Glenda to a revolving restaurant overlooking National Airport in Washington, D.C. for our anniversary (15th?). Found out that the restaurant didnt revolve; only the bar on the floor above did. After dinner, went to the bar to experience this panoramic view for the first time. Saw Walter Matheau in Kwon Sings Dumpling House, Chinatown, NY. Saw Erica Gimpel (Coco in 1980s show, Fame) on street in New York City during the time the show was popular. Met Rick Warren, author of Forty Days of Purpose. Met Leonard Sweet, author of Soul Tsunami, and other books.

Met Carl George, author. Met George Hunsberger, author of Missional Church. Met and talked privately with Dennis Kinlaw, former president of Asbury Seminary. Taught how to use a scroll saw (basically a sewing machine with a wood cutting blade) by Larry Wilsonused to cut heart shapes in baby cradle. Met Aubrey Malphurs, author of Leading Leaders. Accepted invitation to train pastors in ministerial assessment at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (Spring, 2008). Invited to participate in a Clergy Development focus group in Nashville, TN, for the purpose of giving input on future clergy training/continuing education initiatives (2007) Invited to participate in a second Clergy Development focus group in KC on the subject of ministerial assessment (2008). Attended Natural Church Development training, led by Bob Logan (2005). Attended K-Church and Intermediate Church Initiative training, sponsored by Church of the Nazarene (church-size leadership training). Wrote a review for Barbara Micheals, that appeared on her books jacket cover. After about 50 years of biting my fingernails, I quit (late spring, 2007). Broke my first fingernail. Flew in a DC3, prop-driven airliner. Saw Richard Simmons, exercise celebrity, at the Pittsburgh airport. He was dressed in the sleeveless t-shirt and shorts that he often wears on his television shows. Met Pat Robertson, founder of 700 Club and presidential candidate. Owned and used three different GPS systems: Garmin on its own brand of a Palm OS PDA, TomTom on a Palm OS Treo 650 and Treo 755, and a dedicated Garmin Nuvi 205w. Attended three Promise Keeper rallies, including the pastors rally in Washington, D.C. Junior High Sunday School teacher in Grandview, MO, with Troy Martin (now Dr. Troy Martin). Stayed in the Presidential Suite at the downtown Hyatt in Indianapolis, IN. The NewsBoys were told that they could not stay there because someone else was in the room. That someone was me and my family. After years of avoiding telling waiters about birthdays and anniversaries, Glenda and I were honored for our 33rd anniversary by the waiters at Olive Garden in San Antonio, TXthanks to our friends: Jim and Susan Dillow, Jim and Vonnie Healey, and Larry and Linda White. Attended church and partook of communion at Oak Hill Church, pastored by Max Lucado. Visited towns in Lancaster County, PA, with names like Blue Balls, Intercourse, and Paradise. Attended plays at Sight and Sound Theater and Living Waters Theater: Daniel, Noah, Abraham and Sarah, and Mary: The Christmas Story. Kissed on the top of my bald head by a saloon lady at one of Disneyworlds attractions to my childrens and wifes great delight. The ruby red lipstick left its mark for all to see until I could wash it off. Took about a dozen men to Homestead, FL, to help with damage from Hurricane Andrew. Took about a dozen men to Brooklyn, NY, to help clean out a three story building where the roof and all three floors had fallen into the basement. This building would one day house a Church of the Nazarene and the parsonage for the pastor. Played a game that was a cross between bumper cars and basketball. Chaperoned the senior class of our son, Jonathan, to Toronto, Canada. Saw Phantom of the Opera in Toronto, Canada, just before the play closed after one of the longest runs for a play at that theater. Played a practical joke on the Jonathans senior class by sending an official looking letter purportedly from the government of Canada telling the class that some of the things they

brought into Canada could not be taken back across the borderthings like item made by Sony, things made of nylon, things made with rubbereffectively saying that they had to leave all the belongings they brought with them. Rode into the district tabernacle on a motorcycle for an NYI convention to the tune of Leader of the Pack. Bit in the thigh by a German Shepherd while collecting for my newspaper route when I was about fourteen. Gained fifty pounds in six months while going through a particularly stressful time in my first church. Performed the wedding of twin sisters who married brothers in the same ceremony and had the local newspaper cover the event. Led the singing for several years at the annual Good Friday and Thanksgiving services held in North Huntingdon, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and the ministerium, respectfully. Invited to roast Dr. Larry Dunster, pastor of the largest Presbyterian church in Irwin, PA, on the occasion of his retirement. Spoke several times at the annual Lenten services held in Irwin, PA. Played softball for an industrial league, representing NAPA auto parts distribution center. Had my first motorcycle accident in front of the Nazarene Seminary just after purchasing my 1967 Honda 350 and before I had officially licensed it (dumb and illegal). The accident left me with several stitches in my chin. My second accident was on my Suzuki 850 when I was stopped in traffic and a car hit me from behind. My third accident was on my Suzuki Cavalcade when I was caught in a sudden downpour and tried to stop too quickly under an overpass. I hit some loose gravel and fell over, hurting my knee and breaking the side mirror on the bike. Made All-State band playing saxophone in high school. Was given an antique tenor saxophone played by the brother of Barb Crosswaite in the big band era. At the age of 45, sold my alto saxophone that I played since sixth grade. Was given the violin, bow, and case that my Grandmother Ada Faith played in a philharmonic orchestra (along with my Grandfather David Faith, whose violin my sister, Gealean has). I had the violin restored to playable condition. Marched with the Henderson County High School Marching Colonels on the field of the famous Ohio State marching band. Used to eat several slices of white bread covered with butter and sugarto the point that you had to hold your breath to eat it so you didnt blow the sugar off. Ate funnel cakes at Kennywood. Watched major fireworks displays from Mount Washington (going off below our vantage point), Point Park (in Pittsburgh), and the old Three Rivers Stadium. Suffered carbon monoxide poisoning from exhaust fumes before a hole was discovered in the floorboard of the hearse I was driving. Lived in a funeral home for about two years while working there during college. Worked as a desk clerk and night auditor at a local motel during college. Shopped in Tijuana, Mexico. Rode in a Mexican taxi that lost its brakes (parts actually fell off). Learned to eat with chopsticks at Kwan Sings Dumpling House in New York Citys Chinatown. Childrens Camp counselor at Camp Taconic. Learned basic car mechanics (brakes, tune-ups, oil changes, etc.) from Glendas dad, Rufus (who said, No daughter of mine is going to marry someone who cant change his own oil.)

Received three free books from Nazarene Publishing House for helping the NPH representative at a district assembly in Henderson, KY, when I was 16 years old. These books were the first religious books I owned after my call to the ministry (not counting the Bible, of course). One was a Bible dictionary and I think one was a Bible atlas. I think the third was a book by Billy Graham on Christian sexuality. Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Shopped at L. L. Bean flagship store in Freeport, ME. Been to the following amusement parks: Kennywood (Pittsburgh, PA); Cedar Point (Ohio); Six Flags over Georgia (Georgia); Opryland (Nashville, TN); Disneyworld/Epcot Center (Orlando, FL); Universal Studios (Orlando, FL); Seaworld (San Diego, CA); Seaworld (Orlando, FL); Busch Gardens (Florida); Sesame Street (PA). Vacationed in Washington, D.C., visiting the Air and Space Museum, Museum of Natural History, 1812 Exhibition, Holocaust Museum, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Congress, Bureau of Engraving, and Museum of History. Toured the White House twice. Ate a banquet meal at Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Attended Regional District Superintendent retreats at: Lancaster, PA; Rockland, ME (on Penobscot Bay); Baltimore, MD (Inner Harbor); Pittsburgh, PA (Downtown); Finger Lakes region (Upstate NY); and Williamsburg, VA. Purchased a block plane and smoothing plane from Lie Nielson Toolworks, a high-end tool maker, from their factory store near Thomaston, ME. Shopped in the Maine State Prison store where very nice, mostly wooden, items are sold that were made by inmates. I have a wooden sailboat from this store. Sponsored a Jesus Film Pastors Mission Trip to Puerto Morelos, Mexico. Witnessed, using the Evangi-Cube, to a non-English speaking family without a translator. Prayed with several Mexican individuals who responded to three showings of the Jesus Film. Swam in an underground river. Rode a 4-wheeler (quad cycle) for first time. My father, John T. Dillman, died on April 23, 2008, at the age of 80. Attend Strength Finder training at the Gallup Organization HQ in Omaha, Nebraska. Helped our son, Jonathan, remodel his master bath. Became a first-time grandpa (Papa D) to Isaiah Christopher Dillman, born to Jonathan and Kerry on September 14, 2007. Became a second-time grandpa (Papa D) to Kaleigh Grace Dillman, born to Jonathan and Kerry on July 28, 2009. Invited to write two chapters for a church administration textbook, edited by Dr. Bruce Peterson/Dr. Edward Thomas (MVNU) and published by Nazarene Publishing House. Completed in November, 2008. Resigned as Pittsburgh District superintendent in May, 2010 to accept the position of Director of Church Relations for Eastern Nazarene College. Became first-time homeowners in 2010, with ranch-style home on 2.3 acres with a pole barn for my wood shop.
