GROUP TASK

1.Explain in your own words the benefits of inclusion.

• Some of the benefits of inclusion for children with (or without)

disabilities are friendship skills, peer models, problem solving skills,
positive self-image, and respect for others. This can trickle down to
their families as well, teaching parents and families to be more
accepting of differences.
2.Explain the concept of diversity in relation to inclusion .

• It implies realizing that each person is different. We are all aware of

our distinctive personalities, which are difficult for others to mimic.
There are many differences across nations, including ones related to
race, beliefs, disabilities, the economy, social justice, and a host of
other issues. But if people respect one another and grant access equity,
it doesn't matter what race they are or how diverse they are. There are
some people who discriminate against others and tolerate them in
order for their own prospects to come first, but the fact is that they just
harm their own reputations.

• Diversity is the "what"; inclusion is the "how." Diversity focuses on

the makeup of your workforce — demographics such as gender,
race/ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, just to name a
few, and inclusion is a measure of culture that enables diversity to
thrive. Diversity and inclusion are two interconnected concepts—but
they are far from interchangeable. Diversity is about representation or
the make-up of an entity. Inclusion is about how well the contributions,
presence and perspectives of different groups of people are valued and
integrated into an environment.
An environment where many different genders, races, nationalities, and
sexual orientations and identities are present but only the perspectives
of certain groups are valued or carry any authority or influence, may be
diverse, but it is not inclusive.

3.Diversity is being invited to the party; Inclusion is dancing.

• Diversity to the differences in social, racial, cultural , socioeconomic

background, geographical locations, age, interests, physical and mental
abilities, etc, that make individual unique. The con of bringing different
people together in the same place. refers to the conscious effort
behaviours, policies, and norms to make every person feel seen, heard
and valued with their unique difference the strategies and methods
that help diversity work in an organization.
4.List down wonderful quotes about diversity & inclusion and write
your reaction or reflection?

• "Without diversity life would be very boring."- by Catherine

Pulsifer
- Technology is advancing, but human behavior seems stuck in a
segregated mindset. If you watched the news, you’d believe this
mindset is only slowly evolving. Sadly, this is something that is still
happening All the events around racism and discrimination are daily
confrontations, but some of us act like they don’t exist. It’s like when
small children have their hands in front of their eyes and think “As
long as I can’t see people, no one else can see me!”. This trick is
acceptable for a small child. We will all play and pretend not to see
these things, but at a certain age it’s time to use that developed brain
and put it to good use.
We should label racism and discrimination as an act against united
human rights. To transform it into a sustainable change that we as
people desperately need. A zero tolerance against, racism and
discrimination. We probably all felt discriminate against one time or
the other and it never left a positive feeling behind. Just let this soak
for a minute. Treat others like you want to be treated.
It’s all our responsibility to eliminate discrimination. Human
behavior is learned and can be unlearned even when it’s passed on
for many generations. There where a willingness is to change, there
is a way. Sometimes it’s good to look at your behavior and ask
yourself if you need an update. Just like your cell phone or personal
item, you cherish so much. The universal rule should be that we all
are responsible to unite people for the greater good. Put it on your
daily random act of kindness to do list. If it’s not a daily task it
should be, because your future self and the next generations will
thank you for it. (OLANGO, CHERRY MAY)
"A lot of different flowers make a bouquet” – Islamic Proverb
- It says that by understanding and embracing difference we can also
create an environment based on the principles of dignity, fairness,
equality and respect, and break the barriers of diversity together.
(PERDON, ZERIL)

"Don't tolerate me as different. Accept me as part of the spectrum of

normalcy" By: Ann Northrop
- It means that accept me in my weakness and be proud of who I am,
accept me for the things that I am capable. (SANTOS, MARIA)

• “Diversity is about all of us and about having to figure out how to

walk through this world together.” – Jacqueline Woodson
- Despite the fact that no two people are exactly alike, variation is all
about contrasts. Each and every one of us has an own personality.
Diversity is when you go beyond simply recognizing or tolerating
differences and actively incorporate those who are different from you.
Utilizing our diversity to advance society is what diversity is all about.
(PARSAN, BERNADETTE ANN)

• "Diversity And Inclusion"

- How far you go in life depende on you being tender with the
young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and
tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will
have been all of these. (BALQUIN, JOANNE)

•"Diversity and inclusion, which are the real grounds for creativity,
must remain at the center of what we do" ~ Marco Bizzarri
- Diversity and inclusion helps us in our daily life because it is the basis
of what we do such as unity and creativity that must remain.
(CATALAN, ANA ROSE)

• “See the person, not the disability.” -ishaan

-For me, I agree on the quote that ishaan says because, disrespecting
others with their disabilities is not good specially if you are on their
sides, there is no place in the world of people teasing the person with
disabilities. There is a proverb that “don’t do to others what you don’t
want them to do to you.” And that is true. (SAMSON, MARK JEROME)

• “When everyone is included, everyone wins.” ~ Jesse Jackson

– for me when you set your comport zone to every one you got a feel
winners and sometimes you got a losses but if you make a goal to
everyone are join in a group everyone make a impossible to win,
( PAGAYON, JERICO)
