Activity 2: Understanding the Self

1. What social pressures help shape yourself? Would you have wanted it otherwise?
 First, social pressure that shape my self is SOCIETAL NORMS because in our family I’m the
first born child and that makes my family or parents expect something great from me. Morever, I
don’t want to disappoint my parents. It shapes myself up because I learn a lot of things like being
independent on my own and to always achieve the dreams I want. It always give me a positive
mind always.
 Second,Intimidation because I or most people experience this. Our parents decide for our future
and our decision is not necessary. But what shapes out myself is that I learned that their decisions
our for my best and future. It might give me pressure but it’s okay as long as it is what’s best for
me and my future.
 Basically,No because I feel that my decisions for myself are not good enough for me to have a
better future.

2. What aspect of your self do you think may be changed or you would like to change?
 The aspect of myself that I want to change is my emotional self because I get shy more often
and I lose some oppurtunitues in my life that my shyness can do. I want to also change is my
physical self because of my unhealthy habits. Being healthy is my most goal today because I
am thin and doesn’t eat much healthy foods. I also get sick easily because of not taking
vitamins and iron medicines.
