12:00- 12:30 Greetings & Lunch

Discuss what they’ve already learned and what they will learn today

12:30-12:45
What they’ve learned

Today’s Objective is to utilize liable and understandable evidence in cohesive arguments for the
general public

12:45-1:00
Game of One Question
Create a set of circumstances and each person can only ask one question to solve it/crack the
code
(Teaches valuable question asking skills for cross-fires under time constraints)
Example topics:
● Going on a blind date
● Greeting aliens who have just landed
● Talking with your pet in English and the pet understanding it
● Exposing a con man
● You see someone walking on their hands into a grocery store

1:00-1:20
Everyone comes up with their own set of bingo topics (whether or not it resonates with them)
and write them on their board in a random order.
-Have everyone state their topics and create a list out of them on the board to later be called off
Ex. I’ve had to stand up for someone before, I’ve been rushed to explain myself, I’ve made a
public performance, I’ve had to research to make a point to someone in my day to day life.

1:20-1:50
Play game of debate bingo
Bathroom Break 1:50-2:00

2:00-2:30 Game of Four Corners Teams edition


Every one groups up into pairs and decides on an affirmative topic. One by one we’ll go
through and have everyone express their points on each topic with each corner like
agree, disagree, strongly agree, and strongly disagree.

Ice Breakers: 2:30-3:30


Have them pair up and analyze different Times Articles to recognize the claim warrant impact
speed round edition. Each team has five minutes to analyze the opinionated pre-written article
for its organization of evidence and to recognize where the appeals (ethos, pathos, and logos
are used). Once they’re done they present their reasoning and then rotate partners and articles
with other teams.

3:30-4:00
Debate/Presentations on the article topics that they found interesting and why they agreed or
disagreed with the arguments that were made.
