The diagrams give information about the development of Queen Mary Hospital over three
different periods: 1960, 1980 and 2000.
Overall, the Hospital remained unchanged while some new construction was built and changed
size over time.
In 1960, the Hospital was located close to the main road, next to a Shopping Centre. Behind the
Hospital was a large area where a Car Park was built, next to Farmland. 20 years later, Shopping
Centre and Farmland were demolished and replaced with three new buildings which were Cancer
Centre, Pharmacy and Nursing School.
In 2000, the Hospital stayed the same as in 1980 while most buildings were significantly
changed. The Nursing School was removed to expand the area of the Cancer Center. In addition,
the Car Park was divided into two parts, one was used to build a new Nursing School and the
other part became a Car Park with a smaller capacity.
