MOVIE REVIEW

NAME: EDEL A MARIANO JR

NAME OF MOVIE: 13 LIVES, THAI CAVE RESCUE

BRINGING THEM HOME

Do you believe miracles can happen? 13 boys, 18 days, 10,000 volunteers around the
world. What seemed to be an impossible challenge turned into one of the biggest
miracles ever to happen. The story follows a football team with 12 boys and their
coach who went to discover a cave, the Tham Luang Nang Non cave in Chiang Rai
province, after their practice, but a nightmare turned into reality when heavy rain
flooded the cave entrance and the boys couldn’t get out. It became a worldwide rescue
with more than 10,000 volunteers. The film Thai Cave Rescue is actually based on a
real-life event from June of 2018. The rescue operation was successful but hard. The
first option was to actually teach the kids how to scuba dive, but the lack of time made
the officials lean towards another option, which was giving the kids a relaxer and
injecting them with a sleeping substance and carrying them by the divers.

The film was excellent, and the story was based on true events. It gave me suspense
while watching it. That kept me on the edge of my seat. The actors properly executed
their roles, and the actors' true-life characters were on point. The set, light, and camera
angle were all so good, especially when they were underwater.

At 180 minutes, this film is fairly long. There were a few times when the movie felt a
bit drawn out, but the gorgeous, trilling, and impressive dialogue really held my
attention and kept me on the edge of my seat. However, the timeline was a bit unclear
at times. For a number of scenes, it was hard to tell whether it had been days since the
last time a given character had been on screen.

Looking for a film that will restore your faith in humanity? Well, I think you should
watch Thai Cave Recuse. Knowing how dangerous the cave was, everyone had lost
their faith, but when people come together, anything is possible. Overall, this is an
amazing movie. The story was really nice. It has definitely made me realize that no
matter how hard our battles in life are, we must be strong and never give up until we
see the light at the end of the tunnel.
