I have attended the internship training from 22,08,2022 to 07.09.2022 conducted in Anaamalais Toyota, Trichy. In this report I have given a brief explanation about the activities held during the internship training program. DESCRIPTION OF INTERNSHIP 2.1 The organization of the company (about the company) ‘Anaamalais Toyota are a leading Toyota car dealer in South India since 2000. We have 18 branches spread over Tamilnadu (Except Chennai). Placing customer satisfaction first, Integrating sales with service and service parts in a single convenient location, we contribute to speedy and efficient service, allowing customers to experience the convenience and pleasure of owning Toyota automobile 2.2 Internship Activitis 25 DAY I: TOYOTA HISTORY Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Toyota City, Aichi, Japan. It was founded by Kiichiro Toyoda and incorporated on August 28, 1937. Toyota is one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world, producing about 10 million vehicles per year. The company was originally founded as a spinoff of Toyota Industries, a machine maker started by Sakichi Toyoda, Kiichiro’s father. Both companies are now part of the Toyota Group, one of the largest conglomerates in the world. While still a department of Toyota Industries, the company developed its first product, the Type ‘A engine in 1934 and its first passenger car in 1936. In the 1960s, Toyota took advantage of a rapidly growing Japanese economy to sell cars to a growing middle-class, leading to the development of the Toyota Corolla, which would go on to become the world’s all-time best- selling automobile, Toyota was praised for being a leader in the development and sales of more fuel-efficient hybrid electric vehicles, starting with the introduction of the Toyota Prius in 1997. The company now sells more than 40 hybrid vehicle models around the world. DAY 2: RULES AND DRESS CODE TO BE FOLLOWED IN TOYOTA The Workplace should be clean. If it became dirt it should be cleaned immediately. It helps to build a quality work environment, both physically and mentally. The dress code is a h will be provided by the company, must wear head gear or helmet and icidents, proper uniform w! industrial shoe which will protect them from any DAY EXPRESS MAINTENANCE In Express Maintenance Vehicle will be serviced within 30 minutes. Here they do general services like Oil change (Engine Oil, Transmission Oil, Differential Oil (for RWD and 4WD), Filter change (Oil filter, Air filter, AC filter, Fuel filter) and also a general health check of the vehicle. DAY 4: ¢ Petrol Engine and Diesel Engine. 26 © 2 Stroke and 4 Stroke Engine © En ie construction DAYS: OVERHAULING OF TRANSMISSION SYSTEM: Here we go through the overhauling of tr plate if there is any wear for a perfect and smooth drive mission system. Changing of Clutch DAY 6: INTAKE AND EXAUST SYSTEM: Intake system of the engine contains Air filter, Throttle valve, EGR. Air filter helps (o filter the dust particles in the air. When the air pass through the filter the dust particles stay before the filter and it sends pure air to the Throttle valve. Throttle valve is used to control the flow of intake air. EGR helps to recirculate the exaust gas to the engine to reduce pollution. DAY 7: ‘TYPES OF DRIVE: There of four different types of drive system available in automobile. © Front wheel drive Rear wheel drive Four wheel drive All wheel drive DAY &: WORKING OF 2WD AND 4WD. 2WD include Front Wheel Drive and Rear Wheel drive. 4WD include Four wheel drive and All wheel drive FRONT WHEEL DRIVE ar In Front wheel drive cars the power from the engine will be transmitted to the front wheels of the vehicles REAR WHEEL DRIVE In Rear wheel drive cars the power from the en; wheels of the vehicles. ne will be transmitted to the rear FOUR WHI DRIVE In Four wheel drive cars the power from the engine will be transmitted to the four wheels of the vehicles. But we cannot use the four wheel drive for higher speed, they provide only high torque. So it is applicable only for off road use. Rest of the time the vehicle will be driven using rear wheel. ALL WHEEL DRIVE All wheel drive cars is almost similar to four wheel drive cars, In All wheel drive we can drive in both on road and off road. DAY 9 & DAY 10: WORKING OF IC ENGINE: There are two kinds of internal combustion engines currently in production: the spark ignition gasoline engine and the compression ignition diesel engine. Most of these are four- stroke cycle engines, meaning four piston strokes are needed to complete a cycle. The cycle includes four distinct processes: intake, compression, combustion and power stroke, and exhaust spark ignition gasoline and compression ignition diesel engines differ in how they supply and ignite the fuel, In a spark ignition engine, the fuel is mixed with air and then inducted into the cylinder during the intake process, After the piston compresses the fixe! mixture, the spark ignites it, causing combustion, The expansion of the combustion gases pushes the piston during the power stroke. In a diesel engine, only air is inducted into the engine and then compressed, Diesel engines then spray the fuel into the hot compressed air at a suitabl measured rate, causing it to ignite ir DAY 11 & 12: GTS (GLOBAL TECH STREAM): iTS is the new generation diagnostics (ool developed by for Toyota Motor Corporation, Unlike the current diagnostic tool, “Intelligent Tester Il”, GTS is a PC-based diagnostic tool It consists of two components: GTS software and Vehicle Interface Module (VIM).GTS software 's atthe core of the diagnostic tool, and VIM is the communication gateway between GTS 28 sofiware and vehicle's ECU, These components enable technicians to diagnose and reprogram the vehicles. Language support : English, Spanish, Italian, French, Germany. Chinese. Featur + Windows-based software for Toyota/for Lexus vehicles + Requires Vehicle Interface Module (VIM) to connect the vehicle + Legitey Model support with DLC3 (OBDIN) connector from 1996 to 2015 + Apply all the Intelligent Tester Il function except Oscilloscope and Voltage meter DAY 13: STARTING SYSTEM, CHARGING SYSTEM, DIODE, TRANSISTOR. ING SYSTEM: The starting system includes the battery, starter motor, solenoid, ignition switeh and in some cases, a starter relay, An inhibitor or a ncutral safety switch is included in the starting system circuit to prevent the vehicle from being started while in gear. CHARGI |G SYSTEM: Charging systems deliver electrical energy to power sustains the battery's charge Your v four vehicle while it's running and icle's charging system consists of three parts: the battery, tor. The battery supplies the necessary electrical power to the alternator, and the voltag. start your engine, DIODE: Diodes are used within the process of rectification, or changing an AC flow into DC. This is possible because diodes only allow current to flow in one direction. AC, or alternating current, includes current flowing both forward and backward, creating a full sine wave. TRANSISTOR: The altemator has a transistor-operated control device that regulates the voltage by supplying more or less current - as required - to the electromagnet. The re and regulator are usually inside the alternator housing, but on some alternators they are outside, mounted on the alternator body. DAY 14: BRAKING SYSTEM: 29 BRAKING SYSTE! The energy of the pads clamping against the rotors and brake shoes pushing against drums generates friction and heat. This heat-friction, along with friction generated between the tire and road surface, slows rotor and axle (and wheel) rotation and ultimately brings the car to a stop. The main type of brake system in your car is a hydraulic system. This system functions with cylinders connected by brake pipes which receive fluids through the hydraulic brake cireui When you're driving and push the brake pedal, this, in tum, causes a pushrod to exert force on the piston in the master cylinder, which then leads to brake fluid flowing into a pressure chamber leading to an increase in pressure of the hydraulic system. The increased pressure forces the fluid through hydraulic lines towards one or more caliper pistons which then apply force to the brake pads of your vehicle. Overall the components of a hydraulic braking system include the brake pedal, brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake boosters, and brake pipelines. DAY 15: BRAKE BLEEDING: If your brakes feel softer than usual when you step on the pedal, there may be air or moisture trapped in the brake fluid, Over time, brake fluid absorbs moisture which causes a soft or spongy feel, as well as corrodes brake components, The process of removing this is called bleeding, and it's ‘an important maintenance task for many vehicles. Mount the car using manual or hydraulic jack Remove the tyres from the hub, Lossen the bleeder screw Cover the opening with vinyl tubing. Open the bleeder valve and engage the brake pedal 6. Ifair is inside the fluid it will come out by doing this process. 7. Repeat on each brake.0 REFLECTION OF INTERNSHIP: ¢Leamed the periodical maintenance in ‘© Learned the working and parts of automotive systems. Learned the function and working of ‘Learned how to handle tools while servicing a vehicle + Learned to use diagnose software. © Learned about the latest technologies and basics of hybrid system, Learned about time management, self discipline and productivity ship was a useful experience.
