12 Maintenance
12.1 Inspection

12.1.1 General
The valve body inside and the internal parts of the valve must be inspected periodically according to a
Plant Inspection and Preventive Maintenance Plan.
A first inspection is indicated at the end of the commissioning period. Inspection of all internal parts of
the valve should be carried out.

Cleaning methods for steam pipe systems ± see SI500.10.

Check frequently
x the pressure control system
x the temperature control system
x that the cooling water cuts off when the steam valves closes

Check periodically
x that the preheating/draining functions and that the insulation is undamaged
x the condition of actuator, positioner and other actuator components
x that the area around the valve is kept clean and free from foreign particles
