1 Aim the Target 2

Children will develop gross motor skills and eye hand coordination through a
series of engaging activities by throwing and catching the ball.

Things Required:
Balls/ crumbled newspaper balls/rolled socks.

Procedure:
Step 1: Start with a warm-up exercise. This should include stretching of the
arms, shoulders, back and legs as well as brief jog around the house.

Step 2: Step up a row of objects for target in front of the child at a distance
of 2 meters. The targets used can be empty bottle, book, pyramid made of paper
glass or chair. The distance between the child and the target can be increased
day by day as per the performance of the child.

Step 3: Demonstrate the child a proper overhand throw by holding the ball
firmly using 5 fingers and let the child practice it.

Step 4: Now ask the child to hit all the targets placed in front of them using
overhand throw.

Step 5: Once all the targets are hit, child needs to arrange the objects for the
next round of the game.

Step 6: Repeat this activity as long as child enjoys the game.
