William Shakespeare was said to have been born on 23 April 1564. He died on 23 April 1616. His parents names were John Shakespeare and Mary Arden. William was the third of eight children; two died. He attended the KingsNew Schoolin Stratford. When he was 18 he married Anne Hathaway. Their first daughters name was Susanna who was born on May 26, 1583. Soon after they had twins, Hamnet and Judith. They were born on February 2, 1585 but Hamnet died at the age of 11 on August 11, 1596. Williams occupations were being a playwright, poet and an actor. He wrote most of his plays between 1589 and 1613. He wrote different varieties ofcomedies, histories, tragedies and tragicomedies/romances. Some examples of plays are Macbeth, Merchant of Venice, King John, and Romeo and Juliet. He also wrote poems as well. One example is The Passionate Pilgrim. William Shakespeare was a very famous writer, may he be remembered always.
A synopsis on taming of the shrew
The taming of the shrew is about this man named Baptista who lived in Padua and he had two daughters. Katharine, the elder, was known very well for her scolding tongue and got angry very quickly;which is why no one wanted to marry her. On the other hand, her sister Bianca was more gentle, modest and beautiful. She had more than one offer to get married and she much liked her young tutor Lucentio, but her father would not let her marry before her sister. Now there was this man called Petruchio. He was looking out for a rich wife. He had heard all about Katharines temper and it didnt frighten him because he was in the army. He was still happy because she was pretty and rich. So he went to the house to propose marriage toKatharine. When he was there, he discussed the dowry. He was told that at Baptista he would receive half of the estate and twenty thousand crowns. When Katharine was finished with her music lessons Petruchio went in. When he told Katharine that he wanted to marry her she was going to slap him, but he caught her hand and said that he was going to marry her whether she liked it or not. She became angry. After the wedding Petruchio decided to teach Katharine a lesson. As a result Katharine had to starve, go without sleep and any decent clothes to wear. She had to show that she was obedient to her husband so they could go and visit her father. When Petruchio thought she was obedient they set out to Baptistas house.On the wayhewantedtotestherandheIiI.AYKiWst, she did nTY started of so well however, she passed the test. When they
reached, some of Petruchios friends asked him how he put up with Katharine and made jokes of it, even Katharines father. So Petruchio made a bet of hundred crowns to see which wife would obey their husband, and Katharine won which made her father very happy.
A synopsis of the Mi d- summers ni ght dream
A Mid-summers night dream is about a man called Nick Bottom. He was to act in a play with some other men for the Duke of Athens and his wife Hippolyta. The playwascalled The Cruel Death of Pyramus and Thisbe. Bottom was playing Pyramus. He was very excited. They decided to rehearse in the palace woods. Fairies inhabited the palace woods. The queen, Titania and the king, Oberon were in a fight over a little Indian boy. So the king decided to punish his queen. He sent for Puck/Robin Goodfellow to getthe magicherbcalledLove-in- idlenesswhichjuicewhensqueezedintoasleeperseyeswill make themfallinlovewithanyone/anythingit firstlaysiteyes on them. So Oberon used it on Titania. The workmen were rehearing while this was going on. When Bottom had to go behindabush,Punkturned his head into a donkeys head. When his friends saw this they thought they were haunted, so they all ran away. Poor Bottom was left there all alone. When Titania awoke the first person she saw was Bottom and she fell madly inlove. Bottom was glad for all the attention from the beautiful fairy. When Oberon saw this he was disgusted and complained about it and decided to take off the spell. When Titania and Bottom fell asleep Oberon took off the spell. When she awoke she agreed to give Oberon the little Indian boy and left Bottom sleeping. When he awoke he saw that he was all alone, he went back to the village to meet the men. The night came for the play. Things
did not go as smoothly as planned but it went well and the Duke liked it which made Bottom very happy.
