1 Hardware requirements:
The following minimum requirements must be observed if the system is to operate smoothly
and trouble- free:

Since July 2012 it is not necessary anymore to install the CustomerCard Software, as it is part of the
animation system.
4 The screen:
The screen shown below will appear once the software is running:
The start window selects the attached appliance and hands over the command to the appropriate appliance
software (Entry/Exit/Individual test).
Unless the test procedure is not proceeding, then follow up the signs/messages given by the
coffee machine.
4.1 Settings:
Certain setting adjustments must be carried out once the program has been run for the first time, in order to
ensure that the software works correctly.
4.1.1 Language:
The language can be selected via two menus:
The JURA scanner/TERMINAL 4000 can be connected using COM ports 1 to ...
(depending on the number of installed COM ports)
Ensure also, however, that the interface is correctly configured to the appropriate port
The Documents menu gives you access to NEWS documents. Activation of this menu opens a window
containing several PDF files in individual language folders.
These files are updated each time you download. They contain important information concerning
amendments and modifications to our range of equipment.
1. Switch-on the coffee machine and wait until the initialisation of the brewing unit has
ended
2. Now connect the JURA scanner to the coffee machine
When one or more tests have been selected by clicking on the appropriate item in the list, activate
Start to begin the test procedure
The program switches over to the Diagnosis screen while testing is in progress
5 Entry diagnosis:
An entry diagnosis must first be carried out whenever a coffee machine is put into service.
The entry-diagnosis routine is subject to a pre-defined set of procedures (see Service concept).
1. Switch-on the coffee machine and wait until the initialisation of the brewing unit has
ended
2. Now connect the JURA scanner to the coffee machine
5.2 Protocol:
When the diagnosis ends, a log report is displayed listing all the results of the diagnosis.
This log report can be printed out or saved to the computer’s hard disk.

6 Exit diagnosis:
Since June 2013, all new models will be serviced with a short Entry and Exit diagnosis (see chapter 11)
The exit-diagnosis routine is subject to a pre-defined set of procedures (see Service concept).
To access the service diagnosis dialog is only possible, if no error occurred during the exit diagnosis
After the exit diagnosis is the first use bit set (if available).
The customer will confirm the options during switch-on procedure.
Payment system and filter will not be enabled, this has to be done manually
External filter settings (GIGA Xc/IMPRESSA XJ with IFWK /IMPRESSA X9) stay stored as they were
on the entry. The appliance just fills the system during switch-on.
Activate Exit diagnosis and follow the instructions as they appear on-screen
An exit diagnosis cannot get started without having made an entry diagnose before.
The data of the entry diagnosis are stored for 30 days onto the computer.
Exception:
When using a new logic board, there has to be made an exit diagnosis first (or set-up a new logic
board see chapter 6.2 ).
Select the proper coffee machine by using the pull-down menu.
The new logic board has no article specific parameters memorized, as it does not know in what
kind of appliance it will be used (e.g. 230 V~/110 V~ or 50 Hz/60 Hz).
Now you can finish the service and control of the coffee machine
At the end you have to finish the service by starting the Exit diagnosis
Older appliances have a service stamp choice of 3 processing- and 2 error codes
Actual Retail appliances have a service stamp choice of 6 processing- and 3 error codes
The IMPRESSA X7/X9 and GIGA have a service stamp choice of 5 processing- and 4 error codes

Remark:
GIGA and Professional 2 grinders appliances have no staff- and invoicing code menu.
6.4 Protocol:
The exit diagnosis procedure concludes with the display of a log report, which can be printed out or saved to
the hard disk of your PC.
7 Statistics:
This point allows you to read-out statistics data from the coffee machine
The read-out procedure does not change any data in the coffee machine
It is useful for a better diagnosis, especially when having complaints that the coffee machine
returned within a short time after the last intervention

8 Work procedures:
Actual deliveries do not contain the video CD’s anymore (since February 2009)
The videos can be watched on the JURA Service Platform (see chapter 10)
The Work procedures menu provides access to a series of help functions designed to show the
service engineer – with a multimedia display – how to repair the coffee machine
Video displays and sound instructions indicate how to dismantle the machine
Note that this feature is not available on all machines
9 Internet download:
9.1.1 Settings:
On this JURA Service Platform you can read and download the technical NEWS, appliance
information, training documents and the up to date service binder
You will always get the latest and up to date information
It replaces the NEWS function (see chapter 4.2)
Since June 2016, all coffee machines are serviced with a short entry- and exit diagnosis.
12.1 Installation:
If the following error texts are shown, proceed as follows:
Solution:
A previous version has not been installed properly and has therefore to be uninstalled.
Uninstall the Animation System software with the uninstall routine
Delete the installation folder (e.g. JURA_IMP or PROGRAM FILES\JURA\SERVICE) completely with
the Explorer
Search on the hard disk for the files topset.txt and konfig.txt, and if found, delete them
completely
Reinstall the Animation System according to chapter 3
12.2 Error messages during internet download:
12.2.1 Data transmission:
The data transmission is done via the protocol HTTP
Please verify that, if using a firewall, this protocol is not blocked
Anti-Virus programs shall not block the JURA programs
12.2.2 500 Internal Server Error:
When the following error message pops up, the JURA server has a connecting problem
(if using a proxy/gateway the second message appears).
Please call the JURA technical support international.
12.2.3 Error in data transfer, with message socket error #10054. connection reset by peer:
Remove or add the http:// into the address, as described in chapter 9.1.1
