Digging

Arahas  V  is  a  desert  world;  it  was  found  a  dead  world  with  a  barely  existing  
atmosphere  and  no  water.  Water  was  imported  to  the  planet  and  colonies  
placed  on  the  stone  deserts  of  the  world.  Durable  animals  and  plants  where  
then  imported  to  the  world  before  it  unfortunately  lost  contact  with  earth.  
When  contact  was  re-­‐established  a  hundred  years  ago  (after  six  thousand  
years  of  silence)  the  colonists  no  longer  existed  and  the  animals  had  
evolved  to  fit  their  new  home.  One  example  of  this  is  the  Digging  Vulture,  an  
avian  predator  that  has  learnt  to  exhale  acid  that  allows  it  to  dig  through  
the  solid  rock  that  covers  most  of  the  planets  surface.  The  bird  is  almost  as  
large  as  a  human  but  would  only  attack  beings  their  own  size  if  they  
outnumbered  them  by  a  large  enough  marigin.
