MINUTES OF DRAX PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT THE SPORTS AND SOCIAL CLUB ON
TUESDAY 28TH JUNE 2022 AT 7pm

062201. Welcome
Chairman welcomed all present to the meeting

062202. Public Forum:

i. Council to receive comments on agenda items and matters of community interest or concern from
elector’s present.
I am here to explain what has been going on with Carlton to Drax footpath more accessible. Part of the
plan is to put up six signposts which will help walkers to stay on the path (plan of route supplied to
council) Funding assistance has been received from Arnold Clark, The Postcode Lottery and North
Yorkshire County Council. The posts are on order and due at the end of July 2022 for erecting early
august 2022. The land owners will be contacted before the posts go in to make sure that there are no
conflicts of interest.

to accept the reasons given.

062204. Minutes of 17th May AMotC meeting

- Council discussed and resolved to accept the minutes of the 17th May AMotC meeting as an
accurate record of the meeting.

062206. To receive reports, for information only, from
i. Chairman on activities since last meeting: Hales Lane battery farm is causing concerns. In conversation
with Aura they have advised that there will not be anything happening this year (2022) and possibly next
as well. They appreciate the existing land owners have their concerns of access and have assured that
once they are ready to start work on the site; they will get together with the affected villagers and
businesses and listen to all their concerns.
Sunshine Gym, good prices, a company rep is coming out on the 8th July at 9:30 to discuss what we
need/want.
Drax Power Liaison meeting. They are currently making money at such a point that they could do so
without biomass.
