Animal Nutrition M.Sc. and Ph.D. Assistantships


Requirements: B.Sc. in Animal, Biological, Crop, Food, or Veterinary Sciences. Applicants are required
to have a TOEFL score higher than 80 and ideally a driver license for at least 2 years. Research area: In
the U.S., it is calculated that $3 billion are lost each year due to hay spoilage. Accepted students will be
expected to conduct groundbreaking research to understand the susceptibility of legume hay to
spoilage, relative to grasses, and to develop novel approaches to optimize the use of feed preservatives
Next-generation sequencing techniques will be used for the first time to describe the hay spoilage
process and isolate the major molds causing it, so they can be used for the development of novel
preservatives.
