To prepare for class read 

Genesis 1:1-2:3, John 1:1-18, Psalms 33, 95 & 148

The key message for this Creation lesson is: God created everything.
Including me! This is why I worship Him.

Set Expectations & Pray: 1-3 Minutes

Begin class by setting your expectations and leading your students in a prayer.

At the beginning of class, take some time to find out what your students
already know about the Creation

story. Then, we will build upon their current knowledge.

Tell Story: 5-7 Minutes

Tell God’s Creation story with pictures, toys and props.

Tip: Be expressive! Use big hand and arm movements to help create
excitement.

Sing Song: 1-3 Minutes

Older elementary students might not be as interested in singing a song as


younger students. That’s ok. You know your class best, so skip this section if
you want to.

Sing The Creation Song or your preferred song.

Connect to Jesus: 2-3 Minutes

Take time to connect Jesus to the story of Creation.

Connect to Key Message: 2-3 Minutes


Wrap up the lesson by connecting the Creation story to the idea that God
created me, and this is why I worship Him.

Regroup, Review and Pray: 3-5 Minutes

Gather the children at the end of craft & activity time, review the lesson, and
