omeone recently sent me a video that had such a big impact on me, I
now watch it every morning when I first wake up (and I recommend
you watch it every morning as well before you start your day). I put it
on my iPhone so I can see it every time I need to get focused again.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are
powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your
playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so
that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children
do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine,

we unconsciously give other people permission to do the
same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence
automatically liberates others.”
To be successful in business and life, you need to
become a leader. You need to become someone who
is willing to “shine,” and bring those around you to a
higher level. But I need to help prepare you because
as soon as you decide to step up as a leader, you will
notice that people around you will almost instantly try
to pull you down. That is why most people do “shrink,”
because they are afraid that others around them will
feel insecure – and that is why we don’t have more
leaders in this world.
Jay Abraham said that “people are silently begging
to be lead.” I believe that is very true, and those of us
who will stand up and lead are going to be those who
make the money and have the ability to change other
people’s lives. Here are three things that will help you
to start playing bigger in this life...
Lengthen Your Line
I want to share this first story because it will be
important for you for two reasons. The first is how
you will look at successful people around you, and the
second is to understand why people will try to pull you
down as you become more successful.
This story is from a book I bought at a used book
store in New Jersey when I was 20 years old. I saw it on
the book shelf, and for some reason I thought it would
be fun to read. It’s called, “Zen And The Martial Arts”
by Joe Hyams. An excerpt reads:
...I was practicing Kumite (sparring) with a more
skillful opponent. To make up for my lack of knowledge and
experience, I tried deceptive, tricky moves that were readily
countered. I was outclassed, and Parker watched me get
roundly trounced. When the match was over I was dejected.
Parker invited me into his small office; a small sparsely
furnished room with only a scarred desk and battered chairs.
“Why are you so upset? ” he asked.
“Because I couldn’t score.”
Parker got up from behind the desk and with a piece of

chalk drew a line on the floor about five feet long. “How can
you make this line shorter?” he asked.
I studied the line and gave him several answers,
including cutting the line in many pieces.
He shook his head and drew a second line, longer than
the first. “Now how does the first line look?
“Shorter,” I said.
Parker nodded. “It is always better to improve and
strengthen your own line or knowledge than to try and cut
your opponent’s line.” He accompanied me to the door and
added, “Think about what I have just said.”
When you see someone more successful than you,
there are two ways you can get to their level. You can
lengthen your line, or you can try to cut them down
to where you are. Unfortunately most people take the
second option, where they cut down others. Don’t let
this be you.
Look at what successful people do, and model it so
you can lengthen your line. And just be aware that the
more successful you become, the more people will try to
chop you down to their level. Remember the quote at
the beginning of this article when this happens: “Your
playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing
enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't
feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as
children do.”

Your Finest Hour
One of the things that always makes me laugh is
when I hear people tell my story, and they end it with
“he became an overnight success.” If only they knew
how many years of work and preparation I had to go
through to get my “overnight success.”
Here is another one of my favorite quotes spoken
by Winston Churchill: "To every man there comes in
his lifetime that special moment when he is figuratively
tapped on the shoulder and offered a chance to do a very
special thing, unique to him and fitted to his talents,
what a tragedy if that moment finds him unprepared or
unqualified for that which would be his finest hour. "
Success does not come overnight. It comes from a
lot of hard work and preparation. What I feel is the best
way to prepare yourself is through a concept I learned
from Tony Robbins called “immersion.”
When I am interested in a topic, or need to
understand something that I know is going to be
necessary for success in a part of my life, I immerse myself
in that topic. For example, a few months ago I got very
interested in Neuro Linguistics Programming (NLP).
So to understand and learn how to use this concept in
my life, I didn’t dabble in it, I immersed myself in it. I
bought as many books on Amazon as I could find on
the topic. I then found out who the “gurus” were on that
topic and I bought copies of their audio programs. Then
for the next two weeks, I immersed myself in this topic.
I listened to audios when I drove to work and back. I
read copies of the books at night and during lunch, I
read articles and case studies on Google. In about two
weeks I had absorbed the concepts to the point where I
could use them in my life.
I am convinced that you can learn almost any topic in
about two weeks if you will immerse yourself and focus
on it. Every two weeks you could get the equivalent of
a college education on any topic that you want. Prepare
yourself now through constant and intense education
on the topics that will prepare you for your finest hour.
However Long And Hard The Road
In what was probably the most powerful calls of
courage ever uttered in the English language, Winston
Millionaire Mindset
Churchill, after being called to be the prime minister
of England went to the house of commons with this
speech:
I would say to the House, as I said to those who have
joined this Government: "I have nothing to offer but blood,
toil, tears, and sweat."
We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind.
We have before us many, many long months of struggle and
of suffering. You ask what is our policy? I will say: It is to
wage war, by sea, land, and air, with all our might and
with all our strength that God can give us. . . .That is our
policy. You ask, What is our aim? I can answer in one word:
Victory - victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror;
victory, however long and hard the road may be.
As a leader and someone who is playing life to the
fullest, you have to realize that there are going to be
times in your life when the task seems almost impossible.
Unfortunately most people under those circumstances
give up and quickly go towards an easier way. Do not let
that be you. Fight for your dreams and do not give up.
I covered three important principles that will help
you to become a leader and to live life at its fullest. The
first is to always lengthen your line, the second is to
increase your knowledge, and the third is to fight for a
victory no matter how long or hard the road might be.
I want to challenge you today to make a goal to
become a leader. Decide today that you are going to
become a better you. Dream big dreams, then focus and
fight to make those dreams become a reality. That is
how you are going to do your part to change the world.
As you start living life at a higher level, you will help
others rise to your level as well.

never thought that two small words could and would change my whole
life… My face felt hot. I was completely shocked, and then I screamed!
Me, on “The Apprentice?” I left my friends and family, telling no one
where I was going, ready to see what it meant to possibly work for Mr.
Donald Trump. That first season, it was still all unclear. The show hadn’t aired
and we were just there to compete for a job with the billionaire himself. I had no
idea that this thing called, “The Apprentice” would capture and I’d be stopped in
the streets for autographs and sitting on Oprah’s couch talking to her!
“I’m sorry, Kristi, but, you’re fired.” With just two words, the world saw me
lose my chance to work for Mr. Trump… But what came next was the most
interesting and powerful part of my whole journey.

especially you.
People often ask, “I’m just a normal, everyday person,

The Power That Celebrity Brings
Before “The Apprentice,” I had no idea the potential
power of celebrity and what it would mean for me. The
show was everywhere that first year. I remember when
I flew to New York for the finale, a man across the way
from me was staring at me, and I looked down and saw
that he was reading a Time magazine with a cover page
of Mr. Trump and all us Apprentices. Strange huh?
I use the fact that I was on Oprah, The Today Show
and MSNBC front and center in my bio… The first
time I met Dan Kennedy, he told me, “Use it with
everything you do. Most people I know would kill to
get on TV, so milk it, and do it now.”
But how do you become famous even if you don’t
out about you, your customers will want to write,
talk, blog, share and brag about you as well.
YOU CREATE AN AUTOMATIC RELATIONSHIP: People
buy from people they know, trust, like and admire.
It’s instant credibility and recognition.
YOU GIVE YOUR CUSTOMERS ‘PRIDE’: Have you
ever heard someone say, “Hey, look at the purse I
just bought, it’s a Jessica Simpson” or brag about
the latest celebrity doctor they visited, or the
book by that lady who was on Oprah?
CREATES AN INSTANT ‘BRAND’ FOR YOU: If you
focus on your brand and not the product you

can extend your brand across the board. Look at
what Mr. Trump has done with his celebrity. He’s
leveraged it to Golf Courses, Trump University,
ties, casinos and even water! If he had branded
his NY buildings the brand ends there. Instead
he’s extended and keeps building upon it.
So How Do You Do It?
You become a celebrity because you are good at what
you do and the world finally learns about it.
WHAT IS YOUR ‘STORY’ and what would people
find interesting about it? You have a unique story
and your customers will be fascinated when they
hear it. Make it fun, interesting and unique.
What is special about you?
TARGET YOUR NICHE. It’s impossible to reach
everyone with your message. It’s just too expensive
and ineffectual. If you target your niche audience
and give them expert advice, you can become an
expert in a matter of months.
CREDENTIALIZE YOURSELF. Get active by joining
associations, trade groups, peer organizations,
online communities and going to meetings.
Share articles, advice, and talks. Take a class or,
even better, teach one!
COMMUNICATE WHO YOU ARE and (here’s the key)
what you can do for your customers. Display your
expertise and how you can help them. When you
give out your business card, put on the back,
for example, ‘The Five Fastest Ways to Find a
Buyer in Today’s Market’ and send them to your
website to download the report. Stand out in the
crowd and provide extra value.
WRITE A BOOK! Create 12 to 18 bullet points,
write 10 to 12 pages on each and bam, you’ve got
an ebook. If you need help, go to elance or a local
university and hire a ghostwriter to work with you.
Power Marketing
PUBLISH A NEWSLETTER. Break up your advice
and ideas into sections and ‘tease’ the audience
with small gems to keep them coming back. Let
them get to know you with pictures and quotes.
Make it fun and interesting.
Once you start doing some of these things, you will
be seen as a leader and innovator in your field. You’ll
even find your competitors coming to you for help!
They’ll want to advertise in your newsletter, website and
ask for partnerships and advice.
So, create a unique story, credentialize yourself,
target a niche audience and give them some added
perceived value.
Step out from the crowd! So what’s your expertise?
You have one. Now research it, write it, then generate
your buzz by letting others know. And watch out!

How Facebook Works

FACEBOOK IS THE big kahuna of social media. Facebook has become a powerful way to connect socially with other
people, as well as a way to communicate with other businesses and even new customers who may have been out of
reach before. Facebook gives you the ability to easily find and reach your target audience. You can find how many people are interested
in a certain subject, topic, or activity and adjust your marketing efforts to fit each niche. But the best part is, even without paying for
advertising you have the opportunity to connect with these audiences for free!

Turning Traffic Into Cash

IT’S ALL ABOUT the connection. The key to driving traffic with Facebook is to be a person, not a product. If you are more
interesting than a logo, you have the opportunity to capitalize. Don’t try to sell on a first date. People want to get to know you
and feel you out. Facebook gives you the ability to make quick connections that can turn into lifelong customer relationships.

GET STARTED generating traffic with this
system fast using the step-by-step checklist
below. It will walk you through the ins and outs of using Facebook
to generate more quality leads and build your online business.
Make a Facebook Account
STEP 1 When you’re just staring out, the trick to
creating a new account is to use your name and not the
name of a product. People like people, not products. So build a
following and sell yourself before you sell a product. Another tip
is to use a picture of yourself smiling. 63 percent of people will be
friends with a person who is smiling in their photo. The bottom
line? If you are more interesting than a logo there is a good
chance that people will like you.
Make a Sweet Bio
STEP 2 Be yourself. If you don’t like cats, say you
don’t like cats. The more honest you are, the more
people will trust you and consider you credible. Don’t try to appeal
to everyone. Be who you are and people will come regardless.
Be an open book. The more people know about you, the more
they will feel like they know you personally and then when you
come out with a product people will trust it is good because they
trust you. People buy from their friends.
Find Friends
STEP 3 Finding friends is easy. Go to the search bar,
type in fly fishing and Facebook will bring up everyone
who likes fly fishing. Ask these people to be your friends and
presto, you have a network.
Find people you are interested in. Yes, Facebook is about
quantity but at the same time it’s about the quality of the
relationship. If you have nothing in common with that person
what will you talk about? Find people with common interests.
A Secret Trick About Facebook
STEP 4 Here is an insight that is imperative when
you become viral. Facebook is good about setting rules
and following them to a T. One of those rules is a friend cap of
5,000 on normal Facebook pages. So here is the sneaky little
trick. Never get 5,000 friends. Get 4,930 - just under 5,000. The
reason is, once you reach the cap, people cannot friend request
you anymore. If you stay at just under 5,000 friends, an unlimited
number of people can still request you and you can keep all of
those people at bay until you make room for them by deleting
inactive friends.
So instead of only reaching 5,000 people you can have 4,930
friends and another 3,497 friend requests, allowing you to reach
more people. Step eight will also teach you a way to reach the
people waiting to be your friend.

 Update Your Facebook
STEP 5 I’m going to let you in on a secret: Facebook
monitors how often people post. With that said, update
your post five to six times a day. Any more than that and you
run the risk of being yanked from the Facebook realm. The
more friends you have, the bigger of a commodity and threat
you become to Facebook. Stay active but be cautious at the
same time.
Promoting Your Pages
STEP 8 Facebook has cool options available to make
fan pages and group pages. I am going to focus on fan
pages in this checklist. Setting up a Facebook fan page is simple.
Go to the bottom of your home page, it should look like the image
below, and click “Advertising.”

Content is Key You should end up here. Click the tab that says “Pages”:
STEP 6 What you post sets the tone of the kind of
person you are. If you post useless information, people
will find you useless. Many people think, “No one is going to want
to know what I am doing every second of every day.” Well they’re
right, they don’t. However if you find helpful tips, more than likely
someone else will be able to use them too. You should end up here. Click on “Create a Page”:

will find your posts interesting. Sites like Digg.com, PopURLs.
com, and Mashable.com all offer pre-tested content for you to
use and share with your network. I would recommend following
these sites regularly.

anything, and he would have gotten it. The whole office enjoyed the
tasty treat.
Offer Tools and Extra Resources

mile for a joint venture partner or affiliate. Create tools
that they can use in your promotion. Some examples include pre-
written email copy with their tested affiliate link embedded, creating
banners and sample blog posts or articles that they can use. We
have even created customized sites that are exclusive for them and
their lists. JV partners and good affiliates are busy. Their time is
valuable. Make it easy for them to promote for you.
Create Some Competition

O
ne of my functions as Russell’s copywriter is to
critique sales letters written by our coaching students.
I look at about 10 sales letters a week and send back
suggestions for students to follow up on. This article
will cover the three biggest mistakes I see rookie copywriters make
so you don’t make them yourself.
Now, if you’re thinking to yourself, “Well, I’ll never write my
own copy - I’ll just hire someone else to do it,” then don’t stop
reading just yet! I feel it is necessary to know these three mistakes
so you can see if the copywriter you hired committed them. It is

also my personal belief that every marketer should have (www.Google.com/websiteoptimizer), a part of Google
at least a modicum of copywriting skill. After all, the Analytics. It used to cost thousands of dollars to test
business you’re in is marketing. It’s not underwater variables in a sales page but now you can do it for free.

you’re in. If you don’t get the word out about your
business, then you’re going to fail. And copywriting is
the essential skill that lets you do that. Wouldn’t it be
great to discover at least a bit about it?
But enough of that. Let’s go into the three biggest
and most common mistakes rookie copywriters make
when they write their first letter. I will use fictitious
names to protect the guilty.

Write a Bad Headline

Susan sent a 12-page letter in for me to critique. The
bullets were perfect, the close was a masterpiece, and
the logical flow was seamless. But the headline and lead
were hastily thrown together at the last minute. This is
a common mistake that could scuttle your chances of
having a successful letter.
I’ve mentioned over and over again the importance
of a good headline. You have to imagine what your
prospect is going when they get to your sales page. They
probably have email notifications popping up over and
over again while their spouse is nagging them to take
out the garbage. They probably also had a bad day at
work and are despondent. In other words, it’s going
to take a lot to get them out of their trance, and your
headline has to do exactly that.
It can easily take one to three weeks to write a great
letter. Wouldn’t it be worth it to spend at least three
or four more days coming up with a better headline
and lead? I always write 25 headlines and choose the
one I want to use after a day or so of thinking about
it. I also think about different ways I would strike up a
conversation with my prospect in my letter - as if I met
them in a bar or restaurant. After all, if you don’t get
your prospect’s attention, then the one to three weeks
you spent slaving over your letter will be for nothing.
Believe me - just doing this alone can work wonders
for your response rates. If you already have a headline
and lead combination that performs well, then think of
two or three more to test via Google’s Web Optimizer
Take advantage of it and respect the importance of
having a good headline and lead.
Don’t Talk Directly to Your Prospect
Jonathan is an M.D. and is used to writing technical
articles in peer-reviewed journals. He submitted his
copy a couple months ago and it would have been
accepted to Science magazine. But it would have fallen
flat as a sales piece mainly because he was talking at his
prospect, not to them.
There are several ways to solve this problem. The first
thing to do is pretend your prospect is sitting in front of
you in a bar or restaurant. Pretend you just walked up to
them and started talking. What would you say to them?
Chances are, you would have empathy towards their
situation and you’d tell them they don’t have to live with
the pain they’ve been experiencing anymore. You’d also
tell them how much better their lives will be once their
problem is solved. and that you understand how they
feel because you’ve experienced the same thing.
Another thing you can do is pretend you’re writing

to your mother. Start the letter with “Dear Mom” and
pretend that she has the specific problem your product
solves. This will enable you to include your prospect in
the conversation - which is critical if you want people
to bond with - and, ultimately buy, from you!
Overall, don’t say anything in your letter you
wouldn’t tell your prospect while sitting across from
them. A good practice is to read your letter out loud to
someone and fix the parts that don’t flow correctly. It’s
easy to get impersonal when you’re sitting in front of a
computer screen.
Don’t Show Enough Proof
Tom wrote a decent letter showing how his make
money online ebook was going to teach prospects to make
$5,000 a month in automatic income with little work. It
was a promise that appealed to anyone who wanted to
make extra money online. But the fatal flaw was that he
didn’t include a shred of proof that backed up his words.
There’s one thing you need to understand when
you write copy: your prospects don’t want to believe
you! They’re using any excuse they can to not buy your
product. Why? Because they have probably read ads and
bought products like yours before - and they don’t want
to get ripped off again. That’s why you need to hit them
over the head with proof that your product works.
One thing you can do to bolster proof is include
testimonials. The best testimonials are results-based. In
other words, a testimonial that says, “I Made $3,424.23
Last Week” is a lot better than, “This Ebook is Great!”
It is also a good idea to include photos of the prospect
along with their first and last name and location. The
more you include, the more believable the testimonial.
You can also use screenshots of income if you’re selling
a wealth-building product. I do this all the time for Russell.
We have screenshots of his bank statements, along with
proof of his PayPal and ClickBank earnings. Some of your
prospects will be naturally skeptical since these can be
doctored, but it’s better than not including anything at all.
You can also include case studies of your most successful
prospects - which is essentially a longer testimonial.
But what if you have a new product and you don’t
have any testimonials or proof ? You can easily borrow
Power Marketing
proof. Here’s an example: let’s say I am selling a product
that helps people lose weight because it has an herbal
ingredient that boosts metabolism. Although I may not
have testimonials from other people who have used my
product, I can cite studies where people have taken the
ingredient in my dietary supplement and lost weight.

specific testimonials. Just make sure you delineate the
results were based on the ingredients, and not the
specific product. I don’t want you to get in trouble with
the Federal Trade Commission.
Pretend you’re a lawyer trying to plead a case before a
judge. You need to present as much evidence as possible
to your prospect. Lack of proof is the reason why most
sales letters fail, and following these steps will ensure
your sales letter will be a success.
Honing Your Sales Skills
Writing a sales letter isn’t rocket science. It’s a skill
anyone can learn - and the best part is you don’t have
to pay thousands of dollars to learn that skill. Plus,
everyone has sold something in their lifetime. You
may not have sold a specific product, but if you’ve
asked someone out on a date, convinced someone to
go see a movie, or persuaded someone on your point of
view, you’re selling! It’s just a matter of honing those
salesmanship skills into the written word. If you don’t
make these three mistakes in your copy, you’ll be on
your way to writing sales letters that’ll trounce your

With their new income, Xan retired from the
corporate world at age 25 and the couple decided to
go on the honeymoon they never had by touring the
country in their new Corvette. They raced dune buggies
in Las Vegas, learned trapeze in Escondido, went
zorbing in Pigeon Forge, fished for sharks in the Gulf
of Mexico and more all while continuing to grow their
online business. The best part? They’ve been able to see
these massive results working less than 30 minutes a
day (no four hour work week for this couple)!
Now they are back from their 86 day road trip and
working on some exciting new projects. We caught up
with them to see where their business is today and get
some of their best traffic generation secrets. No matter
what stage you are at in your online business, the
Spencers’ story is a powerful example of how putting a
simple idea into action can pay off big!:
Q: Can you paint a picture of what your lives looked
like before you entered the $100 Million Challenge?
A: We were newlyweds living in a kind of rundown
apartment. Xan was working at a corporate job and Jenn

was managing her real estate properties (that tenants were
not paying on). We rarely traveled and never even went on
a honeymoon! Our expenses were more than our income
and we were looking for legitimate ways to supplement
our income without needing to get a second job.
Q: You’ve mentioned that before the $100 Million
Challenge you had tried to build a website and ended
up losing $25,000. What gave you the motivation to
try again and what did you do different when you built
LearnHowToMakeBows.com?
A: When we had previously setup a site, we knew
nothing about internet marketing. Because of our
lack of knowledge, the people we outsourced projects
to took advantage of our lack of knowledge and we

paid thousands of dollars more than we should have.
For example, we paid $8,000 for a website design to be
developed that looked like a 1990s website (in 2008!!).
Beyond that we had no idea how to drive traffic besides
paying for some Adwords.
After joining the $100 Million Challenge and
learning how to setup a profitable website, how to create
products, properly outsource and drive free website
traffic, we finally found out how to make money online.
Beyond the motivation of the new Corvette as the first
prize, plus gaining knowledge (since we love learning!),
we were just really at a point where we wanted change
in our lives to make things better financially.
Q: How did you come up with your product idea?
Can you walk through the steps you took from idea
phase to sale ready?
A: For our first product, we didn’t really know where
to start so Xan began to research some keywords online
that came into mind. We threw around several ideas

Russell talked about using other people’s knowledge.
There was nothing that really caught our attention that
we were good at doing, however Jenn’s best friend was a
fantastic bow maker and was interested in working with
us. After researching and verifying there was a market
(and completing an “Ask Campaign” which Russell had
taught us), we developed the product with Emily. Using

Q: What was going through your heads when you
saw Russell drive up in the Corvette you won?
A: We had just been informed by Russell’s assistant,
Lindsey, that we had come in second for the contest.
Apparently, Russell and Brent showed up at our old
apartment but we had moved to a new place (thanks to
the increased income from our product). Lindsey needed
to find a way to get our new address without revealing

for the second place prize. I ( Jenn) headed outside with
a garbage bag to get on with our day after finding out
we wouldn’t be getting a new car. Well, to my surprise I
saw Brent and Russell outside the apartment!
I didn’t know what to do. At first I was mad that
they had come all that way to tell us we were second,
haha! I also thought that maybe the first place winner
lived next door and I never knew it! Basically, total
shock - I really didn’t believe that we were the winners.
I dropped the bag and ran into the house screaming
“Xan! Xan! Xan!”
Then Xan, half undressed, threw on some clothes
and ran outside and bear hugged Russell and Brent! It
was hilarious. After finally settling down and talking
for a few minutes, we headed to the dealership in the
corvette to sign over the title! Awesome!
Q: For Xan: What did it mean to you to quit your job
at 25 and take your wife on the honeymoon you two
missed out on?

Q: Out of over 45 cities that you visited, what was the

most exciting thing you did on your cross-country tour?

A: Xan: It’s a super hard choice, but I would have to

say riding dune buggies all across the Nevada dessert.
We had a private tour with two professional dune
buggy racers, chasing them and reaching speeds of 55+
mph while ramping sand hills, going over rough rocky
terrain, and shooting downhill on 85 ft. drop, intense! I
was super impressed that Jenn kept up, who would have
thought she was so adventurous!
Jenn: Definitely a tough choice since we had a
variety of fun activities and places to eat! Besides the

been in the Warrior Forum and on Guru.com. We’ve
outsourced a lot of tasks that we do not know how to
do or do not want to do.
Definitely build relationships with the people you
are hiring so you can use them again and again; it makes
it a lot easier for the next product if you already have a
team of people ready to get to work for you.
Q: What is the number one piece of advice you would
give other aspiring internet marketers who are trying
to get the motivation to start?
A: If you aren’t afraid to work hard for just a few
months to enjoy the rest of the year doing whatever
you want, then internet marketing is for you. Don’t be
fooled into thinking that you don’t need to put time and
effort into building a business online (unless you can
pay someone else for their time and effort). However,
the rewards are definitely worth the effort.
Don’t allow yourself to become frustrated. Thousands
of people are successful in this business every year, and
there is absolutely no problem that you can experience
that someone hasn’t already experienced and written
the answer in a product somewhere. All you need to
do is find the right product with the right information!
You’re not alone, now, that’s comforting!
Q: What’s been the biggest change in your lives since
the day you won the $100 Million Challenge?
A: Time freedom! Which in return has brought more
happiness and joy in our lives. We can enjoy once lost
passions. Xan is focusing basically full time on his acting

already starting to book commercial and movie roles!
Jenn got to throw away her alarm clock, and that
was enough to make her ecstatic, ha! Plus, it has given
us more time to focus on what we want to do versus

f you regularly study sales copy, you may have
already noticed that copywriters often modify
existing headlines that are known to convert well
to call out to their target audience.
In copywriting parlance, this is called “swiping.” The
process involves taking an existing headline or whole
advertisement and borrowing the idea for your own
ad. Don’t worry, you won’t get in trouble for plagiarism

because you cannot copyright an idea. However, the
line is drawn when whole sentences are “stolen” from
another ad. That’s plagiarism and that can get you into
big trouble. So make sure you don’t steal content from
another advertisement.
HOW TO SWIPE There is an original headline from
DoubleYourDating.com that reads, “You’re about to learn
secrets that most men will never know about women...”
This headline was later reworked by Matt Bacak for
PromotingTips.com to, “You’re about to learn ‘secrets’ that
most people will never know about: how to really explode
online newsletters, ezines or e-course opt-ins in no time

lmost every time I tell someone that my
company’s name is DotCom Secrets, one
of the first questions they ask me is, “Well,
what is the big secret then?” I now know
how Victoria must feel every time someone walks past
a Victoria’s Secret or sees one of their ads.
So, what is the big secret then? What is the “Dot
Com Secret” that gives the ability to normal, ordinary
people like you and me to make insane amounts of
money online in record speed? Is it because we’re really
smart? I can answer that one quickly because I know a
ton of guys making a killing and most wouldn’t have
graduated college even if they had tried. Is it because
we have really cool products? Again, this one isn’t true
either – some of the worst products make the most
money online. So is it because of a great sales letter or
killer graphics? Again, the answer is no. A sales letter
without this secret is completely lifeless.
The Real “Dot Com Secret”
The big “Dot Com Secret” is that if you can learn
to control traffic online, you will never worry about
money again. Of everything you can learn online – this
is the skill that trumps them all. So, the next logical
question is how! The good news is that there isn’t just
one way to drive traffic – in fact there are hundreds,
if not thousands of ways to do it. If you can master a
few of them, you will be in a position to make money
anytime you want, in any economy.
Now, many people will tell you that you just need to
know one traffic method – which I completely disagree
with. It’s vital that you master a few because traffic

changes daily and if all of your eggs are in one basket
you could lose everything. Make sure that you create a

traffic methods that I have created with my team and
use every day at DotCom Secrets. We are diversified in
our traffic and because of that have created a powerful
and stable business. In this article, I want to elaborate a
little on each of these core methods.
Free Online Traffic
I call this type of traffic free because you don’t have
to spend money to generate it. But you do have to spend
time. So for some people the “free” sources may be more
expensive than the paid depending on how much you value
your time. The great thing about the free online traffic
sources is they are the easiest to systemize and outsource.
Inside of free online traffic there are a few branches:
COMMUNITIES This is where you find large congregations
of people who are interested in a topic all gathered
together in one spot. If you can define who your target
customer is and where they spend their time online, then
it becomes easy to find huge masses of people waiting to
go where you tell them to go. The core communities we
go after are found on the chart.
SEO This stands for “search engine optimization.” When
people look for information in today’s world, they go to
the search engines to find it. To get listed in the search
engines you have to focus on your onsite optimization as
well as your offsite optimization. We use a blog to cover

95 percent of all our onsite SEO, and our offsite SEO is
handled by linkbuilding and content distribution with
links pointing back to our specific blog posts.
WEB 2.0 The web 2.0 world can be broken into two
major sections: sites that allow us to create pages on
them that end up being ranked high in Google (like
Squidoo and Hubpages) and sites that we use to build
followings of people (like Twitter and Facebook).
AFFILIATES Affiliate traffic generation is one of the biggest
areas we focus on. We find people who already know how
to generate traffic and piggyback on their efforts.
Paid Online Traffic
This type of traffic is harder to systemize and
outsource because you’re dealing with a budget. If
you’re not watching closely, you can quickly lose a lot of
money. The huge benefit to paid traffic is its consistency.
It’s much easier to predict and monitor who’s coming to
your site and when you want them there. Here are the
branches inside of paid traffic:
PPC Stands for “pay per click” where you pay every time
someone clicks on one of your ads. The keys here are to
know your metrics, how much you can spend to acquire
a customer and your conversion rates on your website.
When you know these numbers you can figure out how
much you can spend per click and still make a profit.
CPV Stands for “cost per view” where you pay every time
someone views your site. There are many CPV networks
that will show your site to people in their networks
who are looking for something similar to what you are
offering. It’s easy to get hundreds of thousands of views
per day, so make sure you closely target which pages
and keywords you want to show up for.
CPA Stands for “cost per acquisition” where you are
paying just on the acquisition of a subscriber or a
customer. This is where I would pay someone $2 for
everyone they can get to fill out my squeeze page, or
$30 for everyone who orders one of my DVDs. There

are many CPA networks you can work with but be sure
to know your numbers. You often have to pay over 100
percent commissions on the front end so you need to be
able to make a profit on the backend.
CPM Stands for “cost per hundred” where you are paying
for impressions. The key to success here is making sure
the banners you are paying for are close to the top of
the webpage or you may be paying for ads that are never
seen by real people.
CO-REGISTRATION This is traffic that you get by
piggybacking on someone else’s traffic. So they may
get someone to signup for their list and immediately
afterwards try to get that person to join other lists – they
then charge you based on people who join your lists.
Free Offline Traffic
Most internet marketers refuse to touch offline
media, which is great news for you because offline
media will generate better quality visitors and a higher,
more consistent number of them if you do it right. This
is mostly because the distribution channels of these
types of media have been around for hundreds of years
and get into the hands of millions every day.
Here are the branches inside of free offline traffic:
PUBLIC RELATIONS (PR) Getting good PR through
newspapers, magazines, television and radio can be
huge. I’ve had a chance to be featured on quite a few
morning news segments which has been a great lead
generator for our company.
EVENTS There are literally dozens of events happening in
your local marketplace every week. If you don’t believe
me, go check meetup.com. The potential for networking
and driving traffic at these events can be huge.
Paid Offline Traffic
With the onset of the internet, most people don’t
even look at advertising offline yet it’s probably the most
scalable type of traffic generation in the world. Here are
the main branches inside of paid offline traffic:
 Millionaire Mindset

PRINT MEDIA This covers ads and articles in newspapers,
magazines, classified ads as well as direct mail.
DIGITAL MEDIA These are the sources that we see most
often throughout the day like radio and television.
REFERRAL PROGRAMS Referral programs will give you
some of the highest quality traffic every time. Many
people do online affiliate programs, but few take them
offline and turn them into a solid referral program.
Recycled Traffic
This type of traffic will always be your best. The
reason is because this traffic has already come to you
from every other source. They have joined your lists, they
have listened to what you say and they know who you
are. Your job at this point is to build a solid relationship
with them and promote complementary products and
services that will benefit from them.
Be sure to focus a lot of time on your recycled
traffic. I have friends who have built huge lists, but
don’t market and promote to them because they are so
focused on generating new traffic and leads. You need
to remember that it’s always easier to sell to an existing
customer then to try to find a new one.
I won’t list all of the branches within recycled
traffic but did want to mention that the better sense of
community and belonging you can give your members,
the better customers they will become. All of your
traffic generation methods should be focused on that.
Get them to join your list, build a relationship and then
keep them coming back for more. If you can do that
then you will have a following of traffic and customers

What is Kunaki?
IF YOU NEED a fast front-end offer, or just have content
you want to put on a CD or DVD, Kunaki is the place to start.
They have made it easy to create professional discs without having to
pay for excess inventory or ship orders yourself. You can order as few
as one disc at a time and only pay $1. This price includes full retail
packaging, printed artwork and shrinkwrap. Most disc manufacturers
require a minimum order of 50 or 100 and still charge more than
triple that price per unit - so Kunaki is a great deal all around!
They will also drop-ship straight to your customer, so there is
no need to stock inventory. Just enter your customer’s shipping
information when you receive an order, and Kunaki will usually
create the disc and ship it by the next business day. You will need
to factor in shipping costs. Within the United States you can ship
a CD or DVD for under $6 including the $1 for the disc. Shipping
prices are higher if your customers are outside the United States.
What’s the Trade Off?:
A LOT OF people wonder how Kunaki can do it so cheap
- but there is a trade off. Kunaki likes to be thought of
as a machine. They do not provide extensive customer support like

Creating Your Instant Product
YOU WILL NEED the following artwork to upload if
you are creating a CD: two panel insert, tray card, CD
cover. And the following if you are creating a DVD: DVD wrap, one
panel insert card and DVD cover. You can outsource the graphic
design if you wish. If you do, just make sure your designer follows
these guidelines:
• Match the exact dimensions for the artwork: Otherwise, by
default, Kunaki will stretch the image until it fits. Stretching
makes photos and text look warped and unprofessional.
• RGB, 16 bit: These are settings that can be easily changed
in Photoshop.
• 300 DPI: A lower DPI will result in low-quality, pixelated
artwork when printed.
To upload the contents of your disc, you will first need
to create a physical copy by burning your files to a CD or
DVD. You will then upload the contents from your disc drive.
Uploading can take several hours depending on your internet
connection and the size of the files, so it’s good to plan ahead
before you start.
Ordering Samples
IT IS ALWAYS a good idea to order at least one
sample of your disc before you start sending it to your
customers. Kunaki provides the first disc free when you become a
new customer. Just plan a week in advance of your launch so you
have time to get it in the mail.
Placing Orders
IF YOU HAVE multiple orders to place at a time, you can
select to enter the addresses manually, or copy addresses
from a CSV file. You can also opt to use a sales page that Kunaki

I
n June of 2008, I remember reading an article
about Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees
baseball club. For anyone who is not familiar
with professional baseball, let me just explain that
Alex Rodriguez (also known as A-Rod) is currently
the highest paid player in the sport and is generally
regarded as one of its most talented players.
In the article, sports writer Tom Friend explained
how Alex Rodriguez sought out the game’s all-time hit
leader (and infamous gambling castaway), Pete Rose for
hitting advice. The story went on to explain how, over
the course of a couple of years, Pete Rose was able to
nudge A-Rod’s game and help him produce one of the
best single offensive seasons of his professional career.
What I find interesting about this story is that
A-Rod was well into an already illustrious career before
he was able to contact and convince Pete Rose to give
him pointers on his swing. Prior to that time, Alex had
gone through a myriad of hitting coaches from his early
childhood to high school and on to the major leagues.
All of his coaches gave shape to the talent that we
now know as “A-Rod.” However, none of them were the
“ultimate” hitting coach for Mr. Rodriguez. Instead, they
were stepping stones that helped him along the way.
I believe Alex realized two things early on that
set him apart from his peers. First, we always have
something more to learn - always. Second, it is difficult
to teach yourself something you don’t know. Knowing
this, Alex has constantly set out to find others who can
and will teach him how to get better.
In order to be truly successful, we all have to rely
on other people to coach, mentor, help and support us
in our aspirations. When it comes to starting an online

business, it is at least difficult and time consuming to
get things off the ground on your own, not to mention
the uncertainty involved with not hearing any feedback
during the process. Many of these fears and concerns
can be alleviated, as well as timelines shortened, by
involving others in your business. However, it is critical
to find the right people, because you know what they
say about rotten apples…
Coaches and Mentors
So, who are some of the people you can turn to in
getting your business up and running? To begin, I might
recommend finding a good mentor or coach. Ideally, we
would be able to sit at Russell Brunson’s feet and have
him take us by the hand as we get our businesses up and
running. Unfortunately, there is only one Russell Brunson
and he is extremely busy running his own business.
I might argue that Russell is like the Pete Rose of
the internet marketing world, but without that whole
gambling scandal. He is the guy we would all like to
have guiding our businesses. But before we can get to
the point where we are truly coachable by the “master”
himself, we’ve all got to go through the “stepping stones”
of other coaches and mentors just as Alex Rodriguez did.
Fortunately for us, Russell has set up a coaching program
and has trained a few elite coaches to teach his system.
At the risk of sounding like a pitch for our coaching
program, let me just say that they are worth every penny
you might pay to participate with them.
Employees and Outsourced Workers
Aside from coaches, who else can you get to help you
with your business? Well, the obvious answer is to hire

employees. Of course, this can be an expensive proposition,
especially if you are just starting out and don’t have a
consistent cash flow going just yet. However, if you can
afford it, having employees can be a real benefit because
you have someone who is dedicated to your business.
Another alternative to hiring employees directly
is to outsource your work to freelancers. If you’ve
been involved with DotCom Secrets for any length of
time, you’ve already heard this. The benefits of hiring
freelancers for your projects are abundant, including only
paying for work on your project and not having to worry
about payroll, taxes, insurance, or any other benefits.
Some of the drawbacks include a limited ability to
communicate, the risk of revealing upcoming projects
to your competitors, and the lack of full commitment
on your projects because their “skin isn’t in the game.”
Understanding this should help you find the right mix
of outsourcing and direct employees to help you run
your business.
Family and Friends
One of the tougher crowds you will ever encounter is
your immediate and extended family. I think it is fair to
say that we all have someone close to us who just doesn’t
understand the whole internet marketing phenomena. It
could be a parent, spouse, child, or other distant relative.
Regardless, they are the ones you will spend more time
defending your business to than anyone else. My simple
recommendation is to encourage their support of your
business and services because there is nothing better
than having the support of your loved ones.
One of the easiest ways to win over your family is
to take the time to show them the nuts and bolts of
your business. Most people tend to be skeptical of new
business concepts and ideas, leading to disapproval. But
once they know and understand your business, their
attitudes generally reverse to glowing approval and
encouragement.
Successful Peers
The last group of people who will impact the success
of your business (beyond your customers, that is), is your
group of peers. In order to be successful, one should

surround themselves with other successful people.
If it sometimes feels like the successful internet
marketers are all part of a secret “club,” it’s probably
because they all talk about each other as though they
are best friends. The reason behind this is that most
of them meet each other and communicate about
their businesses in various mastermind sessions. The
first thing to point out here is that they generally
pay a significant sum of money for the privilege of
participating in the group (usually upwards of $10,000
per year). This cost is easily justified by the business
improvement ideas that are generated by bringing so
many successful people together.
Of course, you will likely be invited to participate in
such mastermind groups after you reach a certain level
of success. But what can you do to surround yourself
with these people prior to reaching the success of your
dreams? Let me give you a few suggestions:
