CHORES - EVERY FAMILY MEMBER'S RESPONSIBILITY

In the early age and homeschooling, I have learned to be flexible with our home cleaning
routine. At times, we have hired help to wash the floors or scrub the bathrooms, a life-
saving gift in early homeschool days, but in more recent years as we are growing older, I’ve
looked for ways to make this a more regular part of our family rhythm.

We more often use the word responsibility in connection with our house work around here.
Opposed to a chore, responsibility is a gift and privilege that comes with time.
It’s important for us to learn that being part of a family means helping with household
tasks. We do not want to grow up viewing our parents as our personal servant!
Sharing chores with our parent, induce us of mastering new household skills builds self-
confidence. It also builds appreciation which we needs to be done to keep our household
running.
Now questions is how we learn to be responsible?
 Parents should Motivate us to take initiatives
 Our Elder should Be a role model for us
 Our Parent Make us realize the consequences of our actions.
 Parents should Teach us how to fix our own mistakes

In my point of view, our parent can assign some task and obligation to us, which will help us
to be responsible like.

1. Keeping the house clean

2. Taking Care of Younger Siblings
3. Assisting With Special Events
4. Caring For their Pet
5. Packing school bags at night before sleeping
6. Putting the toys back where they belong after they’ve been playing with them
7. Organizing their play shelves and bookshelves
8. Homework completion
9. Self-grooming
10.Put dirty garments in the container for a wash.
In last but not least, I think, Being involved in chores also gives us experience of relationship
skills like communicating clearly, negotiating, cooperating and working as a team. When we
children contribute to family life, it helps them feel competent and responsible.
