UNDERSTANDING AND PERCEPTION ABOUT BEST

PLACE TO WORK

2
According to our group’s understanding, An excellent workplace supports and cares for its
staff/employees while also pushing them to advance within the organisation. At these
organisations, managers and staff members share a dedication to achieving both individual
and organisational success. They also trust and respect one another. The best businesses make
an effort to satisfy the financial, mental, physical, and emotional demands of their staff.
Employees are consequently frequently more productive, content, and prepared to commit to
the organisation over the long run. Best place to work is a place where every department
work together as a single unit for producing the best results within a short span of time.
Employees should have trust among them. From our point of view, a company (Organization)
can be called as the best place to work if the organization values its workers and offers them
competitive pay and benefits. One or more of a company's basic principles can be
communication, self-improvement, or honesty. Managers should always trust their
employees. The business should really think about and improve on its motivational strategies
for staff members. Expectancy Theory is a crucial idea that should be taken into
consideration.. This is also essential since it will enable organisations to motivate their staff
to put in a little more effort and produce high-quality work. When an organisation acts
ethically, it sends a positive message to the organisation and employees trust that the business
will treat them fairly. A good workplace is varied, with employees respecting one another's
beliefs and customs.
Best place of work can also be defined as a place were diverse people are working together as
a team and diversity is perfectly managed and maintained. Transparency should be there in
the organization for making it the best place to work.

INITIAL LIST : OUR GROUP’S PERSPECTIVE
Rank 1: ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOUR
 We have ranked it 1 because in a strong culture, the organization’s core values are

5
both intensely held and widely shared. The more members who accept the core
values and the greater their commitment, the stronger the culture and the greater its
influence on member behavior, because the high degree of sharedness and intensity
creates a climate of high behavioral control.
Rank 2: LEADERSHIP
 We have ranked it 2 because Organizations need strong leadership and strong
management for optimal effectiveness. We need leaders today to challenge the status
quo, create visions of the future, and inspire organizational members to want to
achieve the visions. We also need managers to formulate detailed plans, create
efficient organizational structures, and oversee day-to-day operations.
Rank 3: ETHICS
 We have ranked it 3 because we feel that if an organization is engaged in ethical
behaviour, it sends a positive message to the organization and employees believe that
the company will be fair with them.
Rank 4: JOB SATISFACTION
 We have ranked it 4 because it is the positive feeling about the job resulting from
evaluation of its characteristics. If people are satisfied with their job, there will
increase in performance, organizational citizenship behaviour and many other
parameters. So, organization must conduct frequent surveys so that they can know on
which thing they should work on.
Rank 5: DECISION MAKING
 We have ranked it 5 because Decision making is an integral process of modern
management which need a wide range of studies, observations, interaction and most
important is the perfect and clear vision about the task in hand. It is the game
changing tool. The ability of decision making helps in many ways to get the
professional endorsement and earn respect and fortune.
Rank 6: WORK LIFE BALANCE
 We have ranked it 6 because this aspect has really gained more significance during
pandemic, when people started valuing their “Me Time” more and the working style
had become so vague that one couldn’t differentiate between their office time and
their personal. So, organization should work on creating their employee’s life easy by
either making some of their processes automated.

6
Rank 7: EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION
 We have ranked it 7 because company should really consider and work on how they
will be motivating their employees. A really important concept can be taken into
consideration that is Expectancy Theory. This is also vital as it will help organization
to push their employees to work little harder and deliver good quality.
Rank 8: CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
 We have ranked it 8 because Conflict is an antidote for groupthink. It doesn’t allow
the group to passively rubber-stamp decisions that may be based on weak
assumptions. Conflict is constructive when it improves the quality of decisions,
stimulates creativity and innovation, encourages interest and curiosity among group
members, provides the medium through which problems can be aired and tensions
released, and fosters an environment of self-evaluation and change.
Rank 9: CHANGE AND STRESS MANAGEMENT
 We have ranked it second last because the existence of work stress, in and of itself,
need not imply lower performance. The evidence indicates that stress can be either a
positive or a negative influence on employee performance. Low to moderate amounts
of stress enable many people to perform their jobs better by increasing their work
intensity, alertness, and ability to react.
Rank 10: MANAGING DIVERSITY
 We have ranked it last because management practices need to be modified to reflect
the values of the different countries in which an organization operates. Diversity
management must be an ongoing commitment that crosses all levels of the
organization. Group management, recruiting, hiring, retention, and development
practices can all be designed to leverage diversity for the organization’s competitive
advantage.
SECOND LIST: EMPLOYEE’S PERSPECTIVE
We (I along with my Group mates) had conducted a Survey from around 40 employees
from both the organizations. Current employees stated that a place (Organization)is best
for working which gives proper attention to each and every employees irrespective of
their departments or other social factors like (gender, caste, sex) etc. Employees narrated
that the workplace(organization) should always have a proper flow of communication.
Managers should always lead his or her subordinates as a team and always try to build
team spirit among the group .

values, expectations and practices guide the working pattern of the team
members(employees).

to make decisions for the important aspects of the business. We also came to know
that generally, big decisions related to the organizations are taken by the leaders at
key positions of the organizations.
Rank 5: LEADERSHIP
 A leader is important for them because he guides through all the processes in an
organization and helps them grow. The employees told that after organizational
culture the leadership is the most important factor as it’s an individual skill of an
individual through which he or she can influence or guide his or her subordinates.
Rank 6: EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION

8
 The working professionals had kept employee motivation on sixth rank as leaders are
required to lead the organizations and the employees use to bring enthusiasm, energy
level, commitment etc to the organization with them on daily basis.
Rank 7: ETHICS
 The code of ethics in a company is important for them as it helps in comforting the
employee.
Rank 8: CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
 Conflict management is kept on the 3rd last rank by the employees as they explained
that Conflict Management helps in preventing the in-built conflict within the
organization by changing the organization structure etc.
Rank 9: MANAGING DIVERSITY
 The various employees had placed the managing diversity factor on 9th rank as it
plays a very crucial role in organizations. IT refers to acknowledge people’s
differences and recognizing these differences as valuable. And, this helps in
increasing the efficiency of the organizations.
Rank 10: CHANGE AND STRESS MANAGEMENT
 The change management was kept on the last rank by the employees with whom we
have taken the interviews. We have been explained that it’s an approach to transform
the organizational goals etc.
