Strategy to tackle Agriculture problems in India:

A] Farming:

1. Farmer aggregation: Producer cooperatives, producer companies, and private

limited companies can tackle the issue of fragmented land holdings by combining
small and fragmented lands of farmers. It will help technology adoption, scale up
production and improve the bargaining power of the farmers.

2. Agri-Tech Startups: Right technological knowledge and equipment, mechanization,

and automation can increase the farming output.
a. Internet of Things (IoT): Startups can develop innovative IoT services to
monitor various parameters, collect data, and provide accurate information
via mobile applications to increase the accuracy and precision of farming
processes.
b. Artificial Intelligence (AI): Startups can exploit AI in several ways to offer
predictive insights like forecasting weather data, crop yield, and prices, to aid
farmers to make informed decisions.
c. Precision Agriculture: Startups are developing solutions in precision
agriculture to examine the farm on different parameters and guide farmers
to use exact amounts of input, such as water, pesticides, and fertilizers, to
enhance the quality and productivity of yield.
d. Agricultural Biotechnology: Startups can leverage agri-biotech methods such
as plant breeding, hybridization, genetic engineering, and tissue culture to
produce transgenic plants with desired qualities like disease tolerance,
drought tolerance, pest resistance, and high yield capacity.
e. Startups can also come up with innovative ideas in Big Data & Analytics,
Controlled environment agriculture, and Regenerative agriculture.
