However, we should notice that Categorical Logic or Aristotelian Logic has a lot of limitations.

The limitations simply refer to memberships of Terms and Ideas, or remember the concept of Judgment
wherein when we compare two ideas. And, the Judgment is Affirmative when one idea, when the
Predicate Term belongs or is a member of the Subject Term or vice versa. And then, when we refer to a
Negative Judgment, that is when the, one term is not a member of the other term. So, it simply refers to
memberships; however, whenever we discuss, whenever we perform or we create or write Arguments,
we do not simply refer to memberships or your Judgments (when we compare), remember that
Aristotle’s Reasoning level, the level of Reasoning wherein it deals with Arguments, it is also referring to
comparison of Ideas. So, it only becomes reasoning when we are comparing three or more Ideas or
three or more terms. But, when we write Arguments or when we think, we simply do not just refer to
comparison of Ideas or class membership. So, Aristotelian Logic in itself has a number of limitations. But,
of course, this is not Aristotle’s fault. Remember that this system of Logic was devised as a way to aid
Aristotle in his pursuit of understanding the world and bringing classification of beings or the act of
classifying beings in the world. So, it’s not his fault.
