Criteria 2 : Training Orientation in the New Normal Set-up
Time consciousness and honesty are some of the vital traits
that not only our children or learners must adhere but also must be seen in every individual. These values must not come and go but instead making it a habit and once we value other people’s time and trust it creates a ripple with no logical end.
The establishment of WATCH School aims to strengthen the
values of punctuality and honesty among individuals, a springboard in changing Filipino’s societal values of time or most widely known as “Filipino Time”, and especially molding young learners the importance of punctuality and honesty in all situations. Through conducting seminar-workshop and continuous training involving the Parent-Teacher-Community Association and the Student Government Organization we will be able to successfully implement the WATCH programs and projects. Even if we are experiencing unfortunate events in these times, this does not hinder us in spreading awareness and teaching these important values to become a true WATCH individual.
Alfredo A. Aledia Elementary School headed by the school
WATCH coordinator, Christy Faith B. Altizo conducted an Online LAC Session in preparation for the activities and involvement of parents, pupils and teachers in line with the WATCH program and projects amidst the pandemic. During the LAC Session teachers were reminded of their tasks, obligations and commitments as teachers even if they are working at home, and in using their time efficiently in terms of submitting reports. Another LAC Session was also conducted to review activities, implementation and accomplishments of WATCH projects and programs, this face to face LAC Session was in compliance with the safety protocols set by the local government and IATF.
The training orientation of Watch Club Officers was conducted
to inform the officers about the WATCH Club activities and to enhance their awareness regarding time consciousness and honesty. They were reminded to be responsible with their actions, in managing their time and showing good deeds in every way possible. On the other hand, virtual orientation for parents and learners was also conducted with the help of the WATCH Club Officers who were also assigned to take part of the program. Topics such as value of punctuality and honesty were discussed during the virtual training orientation, learner participation was also encouraged by sharing their insights or experiences gained during the discussion.
In preparation to the on-time delivery of modules, the school
created the Task Force Aledia which consists of sixteen responsible parents from different “purok”. They were oriented and each of them were given an assigned “purok” nearest to them to ensure timeliness in delivering and retrieving modules of the pupils. Through this practice there is only limited face to face interaction between teachers and parents in order to ensure safety among them, at the same time ensuring all learner will finish the module during the allotted time and will be retrieved on the target date.
Hence, training orientations mentioned helps in realizing the
goal or aims of the program which is to advocate time consciousness and honesty at all times. Let us also be reminded that actions speak louder than words, it is not just about instilling in it our minds but taking it into an action and this actions will create a ripple effect to every individual.
