Essay: "The terrible ghost man"

In the book "The phantom of the opera", a man named Erik, he lives in the Opera
House (below) but he behaves like a ghost. He is so violent and bad that he causes
people to fear him.

In my opinnion, el ghost of the opera is a violent and bad character because he does a
lot of strange and terrifying things in the Opera Houses. First, he killed Joshep Buquet
because Erik thought that he was a fool and didn't like talking about him: "The ghost
doesn't like people talking about him, and one day Joseph Buquet is going to be sorry,
very sorry". Also the ghost threatened the directors to fulfill his whims, he wanted to
reserve box 5 forever to see the opera every nights and he wanted 20.000 francs a
month for his "work" at the Opera: "But please remember, I can be a good friend, but a
bad enemy. O.G". At the same time, Erik wanted that Christine to singer "Margarita" the
next friday instead of Carlota because for him, Christine is the best opera singer".
He warns that if that does not happen, a misfortune would happen: "You are ill. You
cannot sing Margarita tonight. Stay at home and don't go to the Opera House. Accidents
can happen. Do you want to lose your voice -for ever?". Carlota finally goes to sing that
day but when she is in
the stage her voice is strange, rare sounds are hearding like a frog, the ghost had
bewitched Carlotta so that she will never sing again. That was not all, also that same
night, he breaks the chandelier (which had thousands of lights) and it falls down on the
public, many people were hurt and a woman died: "That was a terrible night for the
Paris Opera House". I think that Erik did nasty things because he never received love,
he was very ugly so anybody wanted to be with him, even his mother, who she gave
him a mask when he was a little.

In conclussion, this character is dangerous for lack of affection and love and Erik hides
in the ghost, because people were afraid of him for his appearance .
