Psychology, interests and career alignment

I am considering two clinical psychology positions to advance my job career and align my

current and future goals. According to the O*NET Interest profiler results which I completed my

two best interest were being enterprising and conventional which I scored 32 and 38

respectively. On my first interest which is being enterprising like work that have to do with

starting up and carrying out business projects. They like taking action rather than thinking about

things. Their strengths are that they like to persuade and lead people, making decisions and

taking risks for profits.

My second interest was being conventional, these are people who like work that follows

procedures and routine. The prefer working with a set of information and being keen on details

rather than working with ideas. They follow clear rules and following a strong leader.

Given the above results I strongly agree with the second one. I love being conventional as this

the best way to expand your career and goals that you have set. If you follow the certain

conventional trigonometry you can be sure to achieve your targets and also along the way help

others achieve theirs. Being enterprising conforms with the conventional nature of a person so I

believe these two traits come in side by side.

I am considering to launch my clinical psychology career and I believe the above best two

interests provided by the O*NET Interest profiler fits my career goals. One must be conventional

in this career so as to be able to do this job perfectly. For example, when examining a mentally

disturbed patient you must be keen on the details provided and at the same time follow a strict

routine on the patient’s time of appointments and reappointments.
