The dynamic field of Chemical Engineering constantly undergoes innumerable changes and shifts,

which inevitably bring both micro and macro changes in our lives and in the interaction between
humans and different ecological processes. While interrogating the nuances of the sector during my
professional career, I realized the irresponsibility of this industry as well as the requirement for adept
professionals well-versed in the trends. Witnessing my uncle's indomitable passion for learning
further inculcated an interest in acquiring an advanced degree in Chemical Engineering. Thus, I
decided to pursue a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering specializing in Process Control and
Optimization from the venerated XYZ University to materialize my aspirations.

Though I aspired to pursue Aeronautical Engineering, owing to certain unavoidable circumstances, I

decided to pursue Chemical Engineer with newfound vigor. The rigorous course curriculum
introduced me to a wide area of modules, including Design and Drawing of Chemical Equipment,
Process Modelling and Simulation, Process Dynamics and Control, Computational Methods in
Chemical Engineering, and Pinch Technology. Endowed with an inquisitive mind, I maintained an
impeccable academic record in every paper and managed to secure the 4th position in the department.
This achievement was no less than a turning point in my career as it helped me consolidate my
interest in this industry. As I gravitated toward the field of Process Modeling and Simulation, I was
further inspired to opt for this domain as my specialization.

I embarked on my professional journey with an internship opportunity at Spatial Access Pvt Ltd,
where my role required me to work with the BTL vertical that was involved in working on a project in
collaboration with PepsiCo. It searched for a suitable creative agency for its brands such as Mirinda,
7Up, and Quaker Oats. Here I collected and compiled data in an easily readable format as well as
acted as a liaison between the competing agencies and the client. To ascend the corporate ladder, I
worked as a Chemical Engineering intern at SI Group India Ltd. Here I shouldered the responsibility
of observing the process flow data, analyzing the mechanism of each component like the boiler and
furnace, and assessing individual compound compositions, such as the processing of compound from
its raw material to the final product. With an eagerness to add more bright feathers to my cap, I
secured the position of Assistant Manager of Operations at the reputed JSW Steel Ltd. My extensive
role requirement included managing the project of battery heating and chimney heating of Coke Oven
5, collaborating with a team of Russian and Chinese members to control the heating process,
participating in the commissioning of 2 batteries, efficiently overseeing shift duties and workforce,
and maintaining Heating regime, Temperature coefficient >0.8 along with implemented digital
initiative for system improvement. During my tenure, while working on a highly advanced project, I
was pressured by top management to finish a project by neglecting every safety issue; however, my
determination and perseverance not only helped me hold my ground but also complete the work
without compromising the safety or the deadline. Along with sharpening my adeptness, the diverse
work experience also honed my interpersonal communication, leadership, teamwork, team
management, and collaborative skills.

My determination to diversify my academic portfolio prompted me to participate in numerous

extracurricular and co-curricular activities. I undertook an academic project titled, Adsorptive
Removal of Acid Blue 113 using Hydroxyapatite Nano Adsorbents Synthesized using Peltophorum
Pterocarpum Pod Extract, which was published in a renowned journal. As the co-author of this paper,
I was involved in data curation, creating the original draft and methodology. Owing to my innate
research caliber, I also received the Research Award with a lump sum amount for publishing the
paper. In college, I participated in Tech Tatva, the technical event of Manipal University, along with
Chemignite, the annual chemical fair organized by IICHE, where I won a Quiz competition. An avid
sports person, I represented the Inter-district Basketball championship, partook in the Inter Branch
Cricket and Badminton tournament, and secured the second position at the Basketball Tournament
organized by JSW. As an eminent member of the Rotaract club of my college and Treasurer for the
Indian Institute for Chemical Engineers, I was involved in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan conducted in
college and Revels- the cultural event. In addition, throughout my academic career, I undertook
numerous other roles and responsibilities, including working as a regular blood donor in several blood
donation camps, Volunteer, and Organizer of the 5th Elite Men’s National Boxing Championship held
at Inspire Institute of Sports (IIS) and a participant and choreographer for Cultural night organized in
the company.

Navigating a myriad of professional designations and their responsibilities brought to light the
immense scope of the Chemical Engineering sector. As my curiosity propelled me to delve deeper
into this domain and acquire a comprehensive understanding of its shifts, I decided that an advanced
degree in Chemical Engineering would be the launchpad of my academic and professional ambitions.
Owing to its alignment with my goals, the Master's degree in Chemical Engineering offered by the
revered XYZ University tops my list of most suitable courses. The intricately detailed and rich
graduate literature provides a plethora of core papers and electives such as __, ___, and ___ that
would guide me through the industry's nuances with utmost efficiency. Curated by the most
distinguished faculty, this practical-based and research-centric course structure would familiarize me
with highly developed and advanced apparatus, procedures, and approaches. I am especially intrigued
by the university's collaboration with industry stalwarts that would offer me lucrative internship
opportunities and prepare me for the challenging corporate sector. Furthermore, the multicultural
student community and robust student-led committees would permit me to participate in numerous
extracurricular and co-curricular activities.

I am confident that this course would constantly encourage me to strive for improvement by refining
my soft and technical skills. Equipped with such exemplary dexterity, I would secure respectable
positions at some of the most renowned firms in this industry. With my academic and professional
fluency and curiosity to constantly challenge my intellectual boundaries, I would not only enrich my
academic cohort and your alumni ranks. With this vision, I put forward my humble candidature for
the respected Selection Committee.
