2. How do you understand the term culture? The elements of culture.
3. Discuss the connection between culture and communication.
4. Discuss the following few questions, show the powerful link between
communication and culture:
 People in many parts of the world try to eradicate rats from their homes, but people
in some parts of India live and eat with them. Why?
 Some people speak Swahili and some speak English. Why?
 Some people shake their hands when introduced to a stranger, but other people join
their hands with palms together, and bow down in front of the other person. Why?
5. Create a presentation (5-6 slides) according to the following topics:
 Tell about some typical dishes that are cooked in your country?
 What are the normal working schedules in your country?
 What are the normal school schedules in your country?
 Which religions are practiced in your country?
 What are some of the traditional dress people wear in your country?
 How do a man and woman start a relationship in your country?
 What types of folk art are made in your country (e.g. music, art, dance, musical
instruments, etc.)?
 How should foreigners in your country behave?
6. Are there any specific manners in your country? If so, tell about one.
7. Do you enjoy learning about other cultures? Why or why not?
