There are currently 19 Fairtrade labelling initiatives
covering 24 countries in Europe, North America,
Japan, Australia and New Zealand, initiatives are in
producer countries such as South Africa, where
there is growing interest in Fairtrade from domestic
consumers.

What does the FAIRTRADE?


Tha is Producers have been paid a fair, stable
price, having longer-term trading, access to
training and skills to develop their businesses,
having the Fairtrade premium, to decide for
themselves how to spend to strengthen their
businesses and their communities.

Who needs Fairtrade?


World trade rules and power structures. They
are not fair. You risk losing your land and
livelihood. During a financial recession, it is the
poorest who suffer first and worst, the prices go
up and down, making it difficult for producers to
plan for the future, they face real difficulties -
struggling to buy food or keep their children at
school. ".
Who benefits?
Well, the explanation of the problem in the previous question: Fairtrade works with
disadvantaged people farmers in the developing world.The Fairtrade minimum price
covers the cost of agriculture in a sustainable way and allows, producers to plan for the
future, protect workers rights to a living wage, a safe job environment and the right to join a
Labor union.
