SPELL BEE CHAMPIONSHIP 2022-23

Dear Parent

We at SURYA the Global School aim for holistic development of our students
and prepare them for the global opportunities. One such initiative this year is
the annual “Spell Bee Championship 2022-23” for all the students of Grades
1 to 8 across all the branches.

This event is a platform where we shall introduce a healthy competition among

our students and add value to their language proficiency. It would be a unique
combination of education, fun and competition.

This competition will be conducted in 3 phases:

Round 1 on 21/10/22: - Written round of 10 words. Words will be dictated

from the given word list. Student must write the spelling of the pronounced
word in Capital / Block letters only. Cursive handwriting must be avoided as
every alphabet has to be separate from each other for clarity and no ambiguity.

Along with the word the meaning and part of speech will also be given. Student
must write the correct spelling. The top 3 scorers of each section will qualify
for Round 2.

Round 2 on 11/11/22: -Written round of 20 words. Words will be general
words – age appropriate. Top 5 scorers will qualify for the final round.

Final Round on 16/12/22: - This round will comprise of a written and an oral
round where students will spell words in 1 minute time (as many as they
could). The aggregate marks of both written and oral round will decide the
winner. In case of tie, a tie breaker round will be conducted. Winners will be
felicitated.
