Retired Army general named Customs deputy commissioner

Retired Major General Juvymax Uy has taken his oath of office as Deputy Commissioner of the
Bureau of Customs (BOC).
This was confirmed by Uy to GMA News Online on Monday.
Uy said he had taken his oath of office before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin last October
20.
The Palace has not released any information yet regarding the matter.
Prior to his latest appointment, Uy served as the commander of the Philippine Army's 6th
Infantry "Kampilan" Division. He was lauded for leading 6ID troops in neutralizing local terrorist
groups and communist terrorist group that pose security risks to the people of Central
Mindanao.
A member of Philippine Military Academy "Makatao” Class of 1989, Uy served as the Internal
Auditor and the Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence, J2 of the Armed Forces of the
Philippines; Commander of Army Intelligence Regiment and Assistant Chief of Staff for
Intelligence, G2 of the Philippine Army; Commander of the Joint Task Force Zamboanga; and,
Assistant Division Commander of the 6th Infantry Division, among other key posts.—LDF, GMA
