Caroline : Good morning, the second House of Delegates for the Annual
Business Meeting will now come to order. I am Caroline Porter, the
President of the Florida Nursing Students Association. Welcome to those of
you who are joining us today.

Caroline : At this time it gives me great pleasure to introduce Andrea

Wallets, Jacksonville University SNA President and Director of the South
from the National Student Nurses’ Association, who will bring greetings
from NSNA.

Caroline : Thank you, Andrea.

Caroline : Every year we recognize our consultants who have provided

increments of 5-years of service to our organization with a service pin. Will
the following Consultants and their school presidents please come and stand
before the platform:

Caroline : (Roll call of delegates)
The first business in order is the roll call of Delegates. Delegates may not
leave or be seated while the roll call is in progress. If a delegate comes in
late, he or she must write his/her name and school on a slip of paper and
send it to the Recording Secretary before being given permission to be
seated in the voting area. Delegates have been seated in the Delegate area
by school. The Chair recognizes Corresponding Secretary, Leah Biddy, to
do the roll call. Pages, please seal the House.

Leah: Thank you, Madame President. I will now call the name of your
school and number of delegates to which your school is entitled. When your
school is called, please stand and count off. The last delegate will announce
the total number of delegates for your school. I will start with the Executive
Board (see roll call sheet)

Leah: In accordance with the requirements of the Florida Nursing Student

Association a quorum at the annual meeting shall consist of 50% plus 1
officer of this association and delegates from one-half (1/2) of the
constituent associations.

Therefore, the Chair declares that quorum is present. Pages, please unseal
the house.

(Resolutions Reading)

Caroline : The next order of business is the reading of resolutions. Please

see the Resolutions on your desk. The Chair recognizes Resolutions Chair,

(Nominations)

Caroline : Nominations from the floor are now in order. A

candidate nominated from the floor must have had their credentials

for eligibility completed and given to the chairperson of the
Nominating and Elections Committee before this meeting. Failure
to do so disqualifies the candidate.

The delegate presenting a name for nomination should state and

spell the name of the candidate, the school that the candidate
attends, and whether the candidate has consented to serve, if
elected. If paperwork is in order, the candidate should come
forward.

Nominations from the floor are accepted on a first come first serve
basis. Those nominating candidates may line up at any microphone
and will be recognized in the order they appear. Once each position

has 3 candidates no more nominations from the floor will be

accepted.

the House of Delegates, and you may not begin campaigning until

Penny Fundraiser
Checks for the Penny Fundraiser to the Registration desk. If you have
any further questions regarding this matter please feel free to speak
to Me, WIlly Fuller, or President Caroline Porter. The checks should
be made out to the Florida Nursing Foundation.

For Saturday's banquet you can purchase a ticket for 35 dollars at the
registration desk.

Today is the last day to sign up for the perioperative experience
hands on!

Scholarships
Scholarships have been extended until noon today but you must
email them to Caroline and CC willa fuller.

record your delegates emails for online voting purposes:
○ Eastern Florida state college-melbourne
○ Alexandria and Amber from Seminole state.

For those that are still interested in running for a position you CAN
still submit an application BEFORE the 1pm and be nominated on the
Floor. Just to clarify, you do not have to live in the region you are
applying for!

The Candidate Presentations will be held this evening at 7:00 pm
in Coquina DE. All delegates are required to attend the Candidate

Presentations and Meet the Candidates session in order to be able
to vote. Please make sure that you sign in before entering the
Candidate Presentations. If you do not, you will not be allowed to
vote for any elected office on Saturday morning. Only those
delegates who have signed in at the presentations can vote on
Saturday morning – no exceptions. All constituents are encouraged

to attend this event in order to know the candidates you will be
advising your delegates to vote for. Presidential candidates will be
given 2 minutes to speak, all others will be given one minute.
Following candidate speeches, there will be a meet and greet
opportunity.
