Answer:
Mammography is an x-ray imaging method used to examine the breast for the
early detection of cancer and other breast diseases. It is used as both a diagnostic and
screening tool.

Answer:
EXTERNAL
Lymph Nodes - are small, round or bean-shaped clusters of cells. Inside lymph nodes are
a combination of different types of immune system cells.
Nipple – the protuberance of a mammary gland upon which the female lactiferous ducts
open and form which milk is drawn.
Areola - The area of dark – colored skin on the breast that surrounds the nipple.

INTERNAL
Chest Wall - is the structure that surrounds the vital organs within the thoracic cavity and
consists of skin, fat, muscles, and bone (rib cage).
Ribs - are the bony framework of the thoracic cavity. The ribs form the main structure of
the thoracic cage protecting the thoracic organs, however their main function is to aid
respiration.
Muscle - a tissue of the body consisting of long cells that can contract and produce
motion.
Fatty Tissue - connective tissue consisting mainly of fat cells (adipose cells, or
adipocytes), specialized to synthesize and contain large globules of fat, within a structural
network of fibres.
Lobe - A portion of an organ, such as the liver, lung, breast, thyroid, or brain.
Ducts - a tube or vessel of the body through which fluids pass.

Areola - The area of dark – colored skin on the breast that surrounds the nipple.
Lobules - the fleshy lower part of the auricle, is the only area of the outer ear that
contains no cartilage. The auricle also has several small rudimentary muscles, which
fasten it to the skull and scalp.
