1. What is the legal basis of Occupational Health and Safety Standards?

- Republic Act 11058 or the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Act

2. What is the purpose of the issuance of the OSH?

- The purpose of this is to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for workers by setting and
enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education, and assistance. It also gives
priority in the duties of care on the prevention of accidents and injury or harm by making sure that
businesses provide a safe workplace that is free from recognized hazards, promoting health and
safety in the workplace, and bringing about a reduction in the occurrence of on the job injuries,
illnesses, and fatalities.

3. It refers to any employee/workers trained and tasked to implement occupational safety

and health program in the workplace?
- Safety Officer

4. It is the planning and policy making group in all matters pertaining to safety and health?
- The Health and Safety Committee
