Anomalies in the speaking test

 The test isn’t communicative : the pupils are asked to bring


their notebooks and asked to answer questions about
memorised rules or lexical items.
 Teacher keeps interrupting the test-taker to correct
pronunciation for example.
 Not allotting enough time to answer
 Not giving feedback
 No clear marking scale
 Not informing the test-taker about their mark
 Body language: teacher invades the test-taker personal
space / frowns at an answer / exhibits signs of disapproval
which might throw the pupils off.
