 Online Safety Discussion Cards

This resource contains a set of twenty cards. Each card

shows a child sharing a statement about their use of the
Internet.

You could use these cards in a

number of ways:
I have my own
• Try sorting the cards. Which Facebook
ones are positive uses of account.
technology and which ones are
not?

• Discuss the consequences of

each child’s actions. What might
happen next?

• Try some role play activities and

imagine that you are the child on
the card. Get others to ask you
questions about your behaviour online.

• If one of the children on the cards came to you for

advice, what would you tell them?

• Choose one of the cards and write a story about what

might happen next.

• Discuss the child's age and how this might change the
situation. Would there be a problem if the child was 5
years old, 10 years old or 15 years old?

• Use the blank template on the final page to create

your own cards.

• Use the cards as part of Safer Internet Day, during

your online safety lessons or as a daily activity to raise
awareness of the issues.
