Fossil Fuels Worksheet

Directions: Write a one-page essay responding to the following prompt

Prompt: As the world’s scientists and engineers work to develop renewable energy
sources, the world continues to use unprecedented amounts of non-renewable fossil
fuels to power homes and businesses. Why do you think it is important for society to
move away from using fossil fuels?

Most of the electrical energy we use comes from the fossil fuels of our planet earth. Fossil fuels
were formed millions of years ago, from the remains of dead plants and animals. These fuels are
three: oil, coal, and natural gas.

Fossil fuels are non-renewable resources: they are not replenished by biological processes such
as wood. At some point, they will finish.

The energy that comes from burning fossil fuels is converted into electricity and heat in power
plants. When fossils are burned, carbon and hydrogen react with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide
(CO2) and water (H2O).

Like non-renewable energy, renewable energy can produce electricity, heat, gas, and fuel (called
biogas and biofuel) without emitting greenhouse gases.

The main advantage of renewable energies is their cleanliness, they do not generate an impact
on the environment. But they have many more advantages.

For consumers who want to contract this type of supply, it is also important to know its
drawbacks.
Process Diagrams Homework: Using the following process flow diagram, make a paragraph wording
the process in a sequential way so as to describe the process, clarifying the times needed to perform
every single action. Afterwards, use pictures to show the process in a graphical way.

First you must find a shallow container in about 0.09 minutes, place the sugar inside and press using a
circular mold for 0.26 minutes. We move to accentuate the mix during 0.14minuts.

In another container, mix granulated sugar, food coloring, and water. let it boil and reach 310 degrees
Fahrenheit and leave it for 0.46 minutes. We move to accentuate the mix during 0.14minuts. Fill the mold
with icing sugar and place a plastic stick on it. It is confirmed that it is cold and hard after 10 minutes.
Clean the surplus of sugar glass, operation that takes us 10 minutes then we put a plastic glass bag Add
a ribbon to close it take 1 minute and finally we store the product.
