1. Do interest groups enhance or diminish British democracy?

The role and legitimacy of interest groups in British democracy is one topic that continues to divide
the opinions of many.

The first way in which interest groups in Britain undermine democracy is through power
concentration. In the UK interest groups are known to support or favor certain political parties
during elections. Most of these favors are often aimed at establishing centers of influence within
political parties or government.
