The Entrepreneurial Mind

Reaction Paper

In the film "Poor Girl Proves Her Friends Are Wrong," a middle-aged girl enjoys

baking cookies, but her friends are critical of her efforts. She eventually gets married but

continues to bake because she thinks she can turn it into a business. Deborah and her

husband are looking for a business partner to invest in. The first couple they approach

are Mr. and Mrs. Lyons, who compliment Deborah on the quality of her cookies but

decline the offer due to Mr. Lyons' opinion of Deborah's educational background. Mrs.

Lyons, however, thinks that it is not necessary to have a degree to pursue your dreams.

They tried every company after that and were always rejected. I'm shocked because

Deborah has given up on getting her dream job because her mother didn't agree and,

rather than encouraging her, made her feel less than.

Fortunately, Deborah's husband is always there to support her and give her

hope. As a result of Deborah and her husband's determination to succeed and their

refusal to give up, Mrs. Lyons gave them a sizable investment to launch their business.

Deborah's firm cookies gained notoriety as a result, and many opportunities presented

themselves.
