Midpoint Finder Activity

Choose one of the following activities to use technology to find the midpoint.

TI NSpire
1) Open a new document in your TI NSpire and click "new graph".
2) Zoom out
3) Plot the points (1, -3) and (7, 7) by going to menu 1 2.
3) Click Menu 5 7. This will find the midpoint of the two points for you.

Desmos
1) type (1, -3) into the first box and (7, 7) into the second box.
2) type (x1+x2)/2,(y1+y2)/2) into the 3rd box.
3) Watch desmos plot your midpoint. Click on the point to see its coordinates.

1) Click on the snowflake on page 152 of your online textbook.
2) Click on PLOT.
The midpoint for (1, -3) and (7, 7) will be plotted for you.

Turn in your assignment:


Take a screenshot of the entire coordinate plane.
Upload the screenshot to Google Classroom.
Write the midpoint in the comments.

Students who are done early, try to find the midpoint of the following points:
(-4, -5), (-10, -5)

Assessment Criteria
9 point will be awarded for completion of this activity. Students will not be awarded
points for an incomplete activity.
