Essay:

There is no getting around the fact that cultural heritage is important to many people. The lives
that we all live wouldn’t be possible without the very important concept that is cultural heritage
because it is who we are. We are all products of the people who came before us, and having that
connection to our ancestors, is only possible because they passed things down to us.

One important task that governments have to aim, is to prioritize the preservation of cultural
heritage. Every day when we walk to our jobs, schools, houses, etc. and we look around to the
environment we see history. Old buildings are witnesses to the aesthetic and cultural history of a
city, helping to give people a sense of place and connection to the past. Historical buildings
represent something famous or important to people. That is the reason that explains how
unforgivable it is to tear old buildings down, society have to preserve them at all costs.

The seconds task is to teach the importance of cultural heritage in schools. Students who learn
about different cultures during their education feel more comfortable and safe with these
differences later in life. This allows them to interact in a wider range of social groups and feel more
confident in themselves as well as in their interactions with others.

In my view, both tasks are equally important in order to preserve cultural heritage, it is up to the
governments to decide what to do to fulfil this important objective.
