What is a multicultural society?

Multiculturalism consists of the coexistence of different cultures that

respect each other and live in harmony.
Taking into consideration this subject, we can state that this matter
brings along important and relevant discussions, because people
have different opinions.
First of all, and referring to the flip side, I would like to start with the
possible disadvantages of it, and I say possible because, from my
point of view, they are problems which aren’t that relevant: the
language barrier comes up as an issue, and also, some people have
difficulty in being integrated in society. On top of that, social tensions
may increase.
In spite of all these downsides, if we take into account some pros of
a multicultural society, for example, we have more lifestyle options
and we learn from the other cultures. Furthermore, it encourages
tolerance, open-mindedness, creativity and innovation.
In short, everything I mentioned above as negative aspects can be
balanced out. So, I support multiculturalism.
