A107 L01 Extra practices (Resolving

Vectors)

1. With reference to the figure,

given angle theta is 69 and the
magnitude of Vector is 65 m/s2,
resolve the vector along X and Y
axes. Give your answers in 2
decimal places.

y=65cos69
=23.29m/s2

X=65sin 69
=60.68m/s2

2. With reference to the figure,

given angle theta is 19 and the
magnitude of Vector is 60 N,
resolve the vector along X and
Y axes. Give your answers in 2
decimal places.

X=60cos19
=56.73N

Y=60sin19
=19.53N

3. With reference to the figure,

given angle theta is 30 and the
magnitude of Vector along X
axis is 10 m/s2, what is the
magnitude of the Vector? Give
your answers in 2 decimal
places.

Fh= 10m/s2
Fcos(angle0)= Fh
F= Fh/ cos angle
=10/cos30
=11.55m/s2

4. With reference to the figure, if

the magnitude of vectors along
X and Y axes are 6 m/s and 6
m/s respectively, what are the
angle theta and magnitude of
Vector? Give your answers in 2
decimal places"

Magnitude: √62+62
=8.48
Angle: 450

5. With reference to the figure,

given angle theta is 75 and the
magnitude of Vector along Y
axis is 4 m, what is the
magnitude of the Vector? Give
your answers in 2 decimal
places."

Sin75= 4/h
H=4/ sin 75
=4.14
