PLAN OF INVESTIGATION

TASK: Write an introduction to the topic / theme that you are researching. It MUST NOT

exceed 100 words. It should include:

1. The topic

2. A reason for choosing the topic.

3. The type of material to be collected

4. A list of sources for material

5. The expected benefits to you as a student of English

6. Some English language skills that you will use when doing the SBA and how they will

be used

Plan of Investigation (100 words)

1. Why did you choose the topic/select the title?


State your title (subtheme) and give a clear, original and insightful/intelligent reason for
selecting it. (3 marks)
2. Proposal for collection and use of material:
What type of data do you plan to collect to research/investigate your topic?

State the material you plan to collect - the type or nature of material. Be specific. For example,
poems, songs, articles, brochures, infographics, advertisements, posters, pamphlets, biographies,
videos

How do you intend to collect the relevant data/information?


Give various sources. E.g., search the internet, read print and online news, read magazines, books,
search YouTube etc (2 marks)

3. What are the expected BENEFITS TO YOU AS A STUDENT OF ENGLISH?


In what ways might you become a better English student as a result of investigating your
subtheme/doing this English SBA? What skills might you improve or hone? (3 marks)
