Musician thanks residents for support

Cumberland Times-News

Cumberland — Hi folks,

While I realize that Stan has a few loose ends to tie up with the county, I feel confident that we’ll be back next year.
Hopefully, we’ll be able to make it “official” in the next few days.

...

What can’t wait is expressing my family’s appreciation for what you have done. One bad man attacked the festival and
also showed how he feels about the community. To make things worse, a reporter who doesn’t think that facts matter,
wrote a story that went across the country. 1344 of you stood up and said it was wrong. This is how our government is
supposed to work. Our leaders are elected to represent our interests, not theirs or their buddies. You also exercised
your freedom of speech and called the Times-News out on their irresponsible reporting.

I’m sorry we all had to go through this, but the festival will survive, and it looks like your community is better for the
fight. The PAA now has hundreds of folks organized to bring real change to Western Maryland, and in the process, do
an awful lot of good for folks in need. I have asked Stan and Chris to look into community efforts we can all be a part
of in the coming weeks — like raising a house, or restocking the food bank. I want to erase the memory of ill will with
an act of goodness we can all be proud of.

I’ll have more to say later, but for now, let me leave you with a sincere thank you to the General Dave Williams, Col.
Marc Nelson Jr, Lieutenants Darron Jones and Aaron Goetz, and every soldier in the Pale Ale Army.

You are hereby dismissed from the current campaign.
